Recently, I started pilot. After a few days of missions, and grinding XP, I reached 3/3/3/3 in Smuggler's Alliance. Afterwards, I did a mission for Tier 4. I had to grind 1,000,000 XP for 4/3/3/3 Pilot. Afterwards, I did another mission, and then had to grind another 1,000,000 XP. 2 Mpilots I know (1 rebel, 1 RSF) told me that all of their Tier 4's had been missions, not grinding.

So, what's up?? :/

You have to do both mission and acquire XP for your tier 4 boxes. The guys you are referring to probably meant that they did tier 4 Duty Missions to acquire the XP which IMO is a better way to acquire XP than getting it from random spawns.

omg..im at the exact same spot as you with. i just got to 4/3/3/3 neutral pilot (smug alliance). it takes forever to get xp. there has got to be an easier way.

btw, where do we find the 'black sun duty missions for tier 4 ships'? a friend, just told me that is the best thing to grind.

Your friend might be another type of Freelance pilot....

I'll check later to see if Black Sun mission is obtainable from Nirame in Dath cantina.

You can take all missions from your trainer until you get the XP you need to train in the tier4 box.... but that means escort missions (YUCK!) I did the one mission he gave me, then killed wild spawns until I had all the XP before I tried to talk to him again.
