You lose 110% of your XP/Prestige. Leaving you with negative XP you have to work off before you can start training your new profession. This can be bad if you have several million points of Prestige.

Inspirations buff add 10% to earned experience, and faction points, as well as a bonus to experimentation success chances. As was said, its small, but it adds up.

RE dropping Pilot while buffed: nice little bug with them is that the bonus applies to losses of XP as well as gains. When you drop pilot it zeroes out your Pilot prestige and Space Combat xps. while inspired thats all xp+10% and puts you in the negative. My rebel Ace would be -750k to grind or get an CSR to zero out, before icould begin progressing in my next profession. Not to mention the 1million plusPrestige hole I would be in before I could go to DS.

Make sure you always have this buff while flying. You might say 10% is not much but over time that's a lot of xp. Who doesn't want free xp? Plus if you tip a few of your favorite entertainers you just brightened someone else's day. Its good for the game.
