Thread: Space Battle Video (Starsider)
HI!
I am very interested in making some videos of this game [like starfighter tactics etc]and use Fraps, but it lags my computer to hell so could you tell me what you use? Is it possible to like hook up a camcorder type thing to a computer in order to do it?

What kind of system do you have?
I was going through my video archives since I have just registered and put up www.swgvideos.com and found one of the videos for some of the Early space battles we used to have on Starsider. Approximately 3 - 4 Nova's equal number of decimators on the Imperial Side and about 30 - 40 rebel and privateer on the rebel side alone.
If you've got any space videos from your servers or any other videos for that matter please don't hesitate to post them. Reply below or send me a PM via this board or the swgvideos board if you have any problems, questions, or comments.

I got a up to date computer..bought though, so its good but nothing uber fancy.
How do I record onto a VCR?
Fraps is great but lags my system and brings my fps down to about 4
.
Off the top of my head though I got 512mb RAM, 3ghz processor and 128meg graphics.
You might want to check out an article that I just wrote and posted on swgvideos.com

Not exactly sure how they did it with the VCR But your computer video card has to have a TV out/In. so you plug that TV out into your VCR record whatever is coming across your screen. Then when you're done you play it back through the Input on your video card. If you upped your RAM you may be able to get away with running fraps. When I'm running fraps and in cities I get about 15 frames per second, otherwise I'm usually around 25 - 30
