as an imperial pilot and a smuggler , the only option i see for a large ship is a decimator or my sorosuub , do i have to drop my imp faction and go nuetral /smugg alliance jus to have a krayt or a yt???????

Yup. Only Freelancers can fly the YT and Krayt.

Nope. Just your Imperial Pilot certs. Go Freelance Pilot, and you can still be a 'ground Imp' as we pilots like to call it.

no you do not have to dro from the empire to go freelance pilot. I did master freelance as an imperial colonel.
