It certainly appears to be bugged. I tried to do it yesterday with my guild. We fought our way through the giant spiders and got to the old battle droid. He sent us back through the spiders to get a red crystal which I did. After returning to him he said I had access to the lab and the quest updated but when you click to go in to the next part of the quest you get the message "This encounter is not available at this time". Very disappointing considering the time it takes just to get to that point.

Not bugged, its been turned off, people were cheating on it
