Thread: Armour or not to armour that is the question.

hi all.


I'm a master Imperail Pilot, but i wanted to know what alot of you guys thinks about equiping you ships. i've seen a lot of player forgo putting armour on there ships. i'm guess that they have the biggest badest shield they can get there hands on.


so should i put both armour and shield or just shields on my ships.

Get your engine, reactor, shields, capacitor, droid interface, weapon(s), boosterand any launcher you might use placed in and work with whatever room you have left for armor. I personally feel a bit nekkid with no armor and even small armor has saved my bacon before.

Depends if you want more defense or more offense. Most people that don't have armor are people flying lighter ships (100k or below in mass) and forgo it to use better weaponry.

on my opp tie i have 1700 and 1400 armour duno mass 30k+i bet
it is good to save me on missiones or get a nice gunship want to kill me

I used to be the same as the above poster in armor usage. Iv 2 15k 1900 armor peices that now sit in my RE'ed items bag. Armor wear out so damm fast its not funny and this is coming from someone who has a SW for an alt so all the free armor i want.


Now I use low mass armor and save space for better equipment like a 2550 front and back sheild with 18 recharge or the 2500 boosters with 61 recharge I could never fit in using the mass heavy armor I had. The secret is cap to shield shunt 3. Nothing iv run into yet has gotten through to my cheepy armor thanks to this command

That's a very common evolution is armor use among many pilots, I think. Once they get better skills and better gear, we tend to fill in leftover mass with just enough armor for that "just in case" situation.

I would love having 15 rebs ships on my back as normaly the rebel teir 5s never come out to play



But a good cap with nice recharge and a tap of the F key in question with cap to shield shunt once your shields are at the half way point and your up to full shields again

but i bedt i take it off soon as i loot a good 3500+ gun i like
