Thread: Just a few questions about overloads before I go against the vette

What exactly are these overload programs? I never used any. What do they do and what is the disadvantage of using them? Also, if I am over my limit on the ground, can I take off and then use reactor overload?

I'm in a heavy xwing.

Which ones should I be using?

I have solo-ed every single mission up to the vette....except for the heavy xwing mission.

Another question, what's with all these squadrons I hear about? I've just been going where my rebel pilot trainers send me...and I'm to the vette now. Are there more missions than simply rebel/neutral/imperial? Are there like.... mini-rebel "Squadron" missions? If so, what are the advantages of each? Or is squadrons just a fancy name for if you are rebel/neutral/imperial?

Thanks for help!

Read my sig for overloads.

There are three squadrons for each faction, so 9 total. When you first spoke to the pilot recruiter they should have given you an option of where to start. They're all about the same, they use the same type of missions just mixed differently.

Are you a pilot and not using Droid Commands?

Well do exaclty as they say on the tin droid.

Overload engine, increase speed
Overload Weapons, increase dam.

But the armor rate drops, so a engine with "100/100 armor" will drop to 90/100 then when u repair it at a station the condition drops to say 95/95

Thats it realy.

Overload 3's will NOT permanently decay your components. They do 8 points of damage (so 100 armour will go down to 92) but providing you repair before you land and you have taken no additional damage to the component it will repair back to 100.

You can also get around decay on overload 4 apparently by repairing 25% then another 25% then a 50% and finally 100% - but I haven't tried this so I cannot confirm.

You're welcome - 10 damage seems to be the cut off. If you take less than 10 points of damage to a component it will repair without decay.

This is one of the reasonswhy the overload 3's are more popular than the 4's.

One other thing to be aware of once your a master. Anytime you are done flying always take a quick trips into deep spsce. To try and help further PVP in Deep space. they offer free 100% repairs upon leaving the sector. So you wont get decay if you always remember to take a quick trip.

I still didnt use overloads because I can't find any level 3 overloads...just 4s.

However, I'm officially an alliance ace pilot!

I went underneath, took out gun5, then launched protons into the two shields. Hypered to get more protons, launched at engine. That caused gunboats to go on and leave the ship. Proton launched the reactor, then the last protons to the bridge.

Boom, dead corvette!

Then I had to go hunt down those two gunboats.

Anyway, thanks for the tips!
