just looted a shield which has 0 / 864 front and back hitpoints.
I have the All Purpose ship repair kit in inventory. Upon opening up radial menu of the shield, I get two repair options, Repair-1 Kit, and Repair-Full. Selected both and I just get a message with item is not damaged.
How do I restore hitpoints?

0/xxxxx just means the shield is drained. Launch with it and it'll recharge at its given rate.
