Thread: Concerns about ships like the YT-1300
I have taken noob pilots and qualified pilots up in my YT-1300 and generally they have enjoyed themselves alot. In regards to a master pilot handeling all the controls, it is a multi-person ship, and therefore requires multiple people to fly it.
The only thing I would really like to see changed about this ship, is to add a pilot controlled emergency cannon... like the one on the falcon in Episode V. If this is not possible, allow the pilot and co-pilot to link the cannons into a forward position and be fired from the cockpit.
Yes, the ship is sluggish, but after a while, you get the hang of it. Yesterday I took my friend up to Dathamir space and me flying, and him gunning, we flew around for a while taking out tier 4 and 5 ships. It's all a matter of opinion I guess.
Eek, we need to find you an ENTER key ![]()
POB ships have their own class of equipment already. Elite components. Not as great as the could be, and crafting some of them is kinda bugged, but still significantly better than Mark V in some cases.

I pretty much stand by my analisis of this ship being substandard for what it could be.
Nothing wrong with your analysis Krendor. I recently upgraded to the new POB components and have found them to balance out many of the issues you have raised. My shields are better so I can take more hits (i.e. fly slower) and my guns are more powerful requiring less hits to finish off a target. Much more balanced than before, but comparing to the Krayt may be a mistake since they represent two very different flying styles.
Trips on my YT are meant to be fun for all on board and I try to take up more than a full crew whenever I can. That leaves plenty of folks to repair conduits if need be and allows gunners/co-pilots and even myself the chance to get up and take a break - what a luxury in space!
I have a concern that my co-pilot has to be the same faction as I am - this may not be entirely realistic (or necessary). I would also like to do some Pilot/F.C. commands from the pilot chair, but I understand why this is not how it works.
Sounds like your enjoyment in flying the YT may be less than you expected - in that case, fly the Krayt and have a blast! That's what it's there for! ![]()
