Thread: How does decay on components work exactly?
Parts decay upon repair. For every 10 pts you repair, you get 1 pt of decay. Droid programs that do less than 10 pts of damage will not decay the part, as long as you take no more damage, and remember to repair before you run them again.
Armor and hp are the combine amount of damage a part can take before you lose it. The only difference in the 2 is that Armor has the vs armor rating of the weapon applied to it, until it is gone, then dmg goes to hp.

do you know which droid programs do more than 10 pts of dmg? Right now I'm using...
cap to shield shunt 4
eng overload 3
reactor overload 4
weapon cap overcharge 4
wep overload 3
also I don't quite understand what is considered dmg. Is it dmg to armor or dmg to hitpoints? And is what you're saying that hitpoints are just an extension of armor? so that when my shielddepleats and, for example, my enginegets disabled will I have 0/**** armor and 0/**** hitpoints?
programs lvl3 and below do less than 10 pts. Shunts don't do damage, they are a tactical program. If a part as been fully disabled it will be at 0 armor and hp as you described.
Damage to armor or dmg to hit points are both damage, it's just that damage done to them get's applied differently.

ok so if the disabled part had 1000 armor and 1000 hitpoints would that mean that upon repair it would lose a total of 100 armor and 100 hitpoints?
