Thread: Very frustrated with second kashyyyk station mission

This 2nd kashyyk platform mission is insane. I'm 4443 with a maxed out Dune, and 3 level 4s EASILY rip this level 1 transport to shreds. I've tried calling in pirates, disabling rather than destroying ships, using a jamming channel - nothing seems to work. I could easily kill the tier 3 and tier 4 pilots, I just have no way of them NOT tearing up that tier 1 transport (travelling at 150kph!!!)

I know many people justbring in their 'ace pilot' friends to help them do these missions, but clearly that isn't the point. I've heard some folks say that space missions aren't supposed to be solo-able. I haven't heard that from any dev - ever. In fact, I've only heard quite the contrary.

Is there a legit (i.e. without giving yourself an unfair advantage) wayto complete this mission?

If I remember correctly this mission has t4 ghrag Specialists in the wave mix right? I found them to be the most time consuming to kill, but also the least dangerous to the ship. In a laggy Kash sector, these can take far longer than they should. Focus on any incomings that can fire rockets, knock off the lower tier attackers first, then do some damage to any remaining Specialists if time permits, but basically knock off the majority, and deal with the hardest ones when able. These fast movers only fire a single blaster, and dont do much damage compared to the slower easier to kill rocket boats.

Yeah, that's what I do - I take out all the tier 2 & 3s (easily) and then switch to the final 3 tier 4s of the mission (I would assume.)

At 1/4 shields and 100% hull, they waste that tier 1 transport easily - 3km away from the target area.

The Kashyyyk missions seemed to be a little different in that the bad guys gunned for the target ship more, and tended to ignore me. Or at least it felt that way.

I don't remember that specific mission. As said above, go after the missile boats first in any mission, regardless of tier. Their torpedoes will do more damage than their blasters.

With escort missions I like to fly right near the front of the vessel I'm escorting. When the wave attacks, line up with the closest one and I can often take him out before they even get close...then select the next...and so forth until the wave is on me. It's not unusual for me to take out at least two of them before they get near the ship I'm escorting, and I don't think I'm flying with any gear you wouldn't have at your level.

It's often helpful to hit each ship once or twice to get their attention. You won't hold it forever, but you can buy your escort some time.

Without meaning to brag, I was able to solo it, as far as I'm concerned my methods were very legit (I'm not sure what you're considering to be unfair?). You need to either reevaluate your tactics (sounds like that's what you're trying to do), run the mission over and over until you get the motions down perfect (ala single player games you can't beat), or get a friend to fly it with you. There's no shame in wingmates, and the fact that it's an MMO suggests this may be a wise course of action for you.

Welp, 2 days and about 30+ missions of this - I guess I just have to change my tactics (again, the transport is at 25/100 when I only have 3 tier 4s left. They're not gunboats, but they still tear the thing apart with laser bolts.)

Guess I'll have to do it like most, and beg a higher level to do it for me. Yes, I know it's an MMO, but I am HIGHLY against twinking (which that is.)

I'm just getting very, very, very bored with this whole thing...

I want to move on.

If you're 4433, you should get a Rhyx. I was able to easily solo all the Kashiiiiiik station missions, except the last one where you have to disable/capture the corvette.

You don't have to get an Ace to fly with you, just a wingman. Add another ship and you do three important things:

- Double your firepower

-Give yourself the ability to occupy two opponents at once (keeping them off the escort)

-Divide the enemy firepower in half, since they're shooting at you and your friend

In the words of Mohamed Ali... "Float like a butterfly sting like a bee." I soloed all the escort missions so it can be done (If I can do it most people should be able to.) I always attack the biggest threat first then chase down the light fighters.

I did this at 3232 in my TIE Intercepter.. what you have to do is shoot them all in one or two passes so they attack you then start killing the tier 4 and move down to the tier 2s

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but disable the ships, don't destroy them. Enough dead ships float around, it'll slow down the spawn rate of more ships.

Well, I've just 'completed' this mission for the 43rd time (I'll likely grind all the way to master at this pace) - the last 4 missions with a wingman. Again, it's not being able to take out or distact a ship, but two tier 4 ace pilots will take down a tier 1 ship in less that 10 seconds from 50% shield 100% hull (you try taking down a tier 1 ship solo and see how long they last)

Yes, I know they do 'volleys' and don't go straight for the kill, but my civilian transport pilot goes from 'they've punched through our shields' the moment the 2 tier 4s arrive to 'we're down to 50% hull) within 3 seconds (yes, 3) to death of the freighter in 3 (yes, three) more seconds.

Maybe the freighter was higher level when you folks did it. I have a great ship, and consider myself a very good pilot. This mission just seems totally out of wack.
