Thread: Best way to get good loot, tier 4 duty mission or kessel/deep space?

Kessel and deep space are empty sometimes. Duty missions are much more consistent. With duty missions I do get up to lvl 10 stuff but I don't seem to be getting the really good stats. Do I have a better chance of getting better stats on my loot killing tier 5 stuff in kesseland deep space?

late nights in Kessel. Kill Imperial gunboats. I was getting drops from them 90% of the time, and they were all lvl 9 & 10 pieces

How aboutthis: pick up a mission somewhere other than your Kessel/DS station's system, and see how things look there ... if Kessel and DS are fairly dead, you'll have a fall-back without having to land and restart all the programs.

I find that endor space and hunting death watch gives good lkoot, and has fast spawns

this would be a very obvious suggestion and not at all whatI'm asking about in my original post. I'm asking about similarities or differences in the loot patterns between tier 4 duty missions and kessel/ds.
If there was a reason for me to go to kessel/ds first, then this is something I would obviously do. But is therea reason for me to go to kessel/ds first?

Not really no. Until I see comprehensive and accurate statistical analysis to prove otherwise, a ship is a ship is a ship. Duties are more consistent and have the added benefits carried by different ones.

well I know atier 1 ship will not drop high level parts (or will drop them very rarely). I would think that the same concept applies to atier 4 ship as apposed to atier 5 ship.
and besides the frequency of higher level parts I would also like to know about the quality. But that would be tougher to know i guess.

when I say a ship is a ship is a ship, it's in reference to what you asked about higher quality parts from "wild" ships. I know all about tier appropriate loot and drop frequencies

You can get good tier 5 duty missions in Kashyyk space if your looking for Tier 5 ships. Personally I go to the rodian hyper point and then the rodian outpost poi - there's a tier 5 decimator near the station that you can talk to for the missions. Be prepared though because it spawns nova's as the "boss". A good duty mission for loot though (or so I find at least)
