Title sums it up well. I was wonder if it is posable to decaler one way or the other to go Overt for one side or the other with out going to Deepspace. Looking for faction for instance.

Yes, but it has to be the faction you already are on the ground.

You can only declare for a faction outside of DS if you're factioned on the ground. eg Imperial/Freelance can declare as Imperial in space.


If you're not factioned on the ground, you can't declare for a faction in normal space.

Also, the perma-overt bug from DS didn't allow a neutral/privateer to shoot down ships for faction in other sectors (I'm not even sure that the bug happened, for that matter).
