I just became a master reb pilot and am looking to get some RE'ing done. Is there by any chance any information on approximate mins and maxes of different levels of space loot, so I can get a good idea what to expect from re'ing parts?
For example, I have10 level 8 weapons right now and here are the best stats fromthe best 8(not including the 5% bonus from RE'ing):
armor/hps: 712.3
reactor energy drain: 1978.4
mass: 27491.3
dmg: 2387.8-3692.1
vs shields: .643
vs armor: .642
energy/shot: 14.1 (made me spill my drink, lol)
refire rate: .393
Any advice and help is appreciated. Thanks.

guns can get pretty far up there, I've seen some REd guns with max damage in the 4000's
the best reactors are bwtween 30-40k power
the best armor i've seens gets up to about 2000
Shields can get up to about 3000 with a little RE love
Looted droid interfaces don't come lower than 10.00 from what I've seen, but can be REed lower.
Capitors max recharge rate is around 50, max energy is around 2000
Engines tend to be some of the worst loot, the best looted one I've seen is around 90

Is there any type and level of loot in particular you're looking for?

The damage and EPS in that lot comes from the L8 reward blaster.
As for effectiveness, I've found the H-K Scorcher Advanced and MandalMotors Heavy Annihilator have the highest effectiveness - my personal bests being .651/.653.
As for masses, the lowest I've gotten was around 25,700 pre-RE. And for refires, the lowest was a .395. Reactor drain hovers around that 1800-1900ish range.
The beauty of the Borstel is that it's the best L8 in armor/hp, min/max damage, and eps.

weapons: I have a lvl10 that's ~4700 damage non-REd (waiting for it's cousins
armor: go with crafted, can get over 2500 in armor on lvl9, though sometimes you can find nice looted armor with near 2000 with quite a low mass. better to go with lvl7 crafted in this case though, can get 1800ish armor on that for much lower mass than lvl9 (or level 10 REd)
DIs: have seen (and RE'd) a lvl 10 at 9.7 spd (must have had higher but been rounded down when examining), after RE went to 9.18 I think (rounded to 9.2)
heh, haven't seen that good of shields dropping, but i've only seen one lvl10 shield since i started JTL. I've had a cap with recharge of 50 but no higher, nowhere near that energy though heh. and don't get me started on engines

Level 10 engines can break 95 speed and 80 PYR. 1380 or so is the lowest reactor drain I've found, and 41K is the lowest mass I've ever heard of, though the best I've looted is just over 43K.

Lately I've been finding that if I'm patient, I can RE armor that beats crafted armor at almost any mass. For example, for level 4 armor, use the low mass level 4 reward slab that Imp pilots get and then RE it with a good high protection looted slab. Or for level 6 armor use the 1269 protection slab that Rebs and Freelancers get as quest rewards and then RE it with a low mass looted slab. For level 8, use the 1868 protection slab that Imps get as a quest reward and then RE it with a 12k mass or less looted slab. Those are just the obvious ones, but there's plenty of others I've been able to RE at all the other levels. The only levels that seem really hard are levels 9 and 10, since low mass level 9 and 10 drops are pretty rare.

hrm. what's a good low mass for lvl6? I get my lvl5 armor over 1300 now, I think just over 6k mass. Don't remember off the top of my head what lvl7 armor weighs (16k? 20k? - so that lvl8 armor is a good bet REd, I'll have to look for it in my loot bags *hope* it's still there, heh). I guess once master, spending time for that 'perfect' armor is a good thing, as decay is basically nothing with DS. Though, I do much outside, and wouldn't want to ever risk the chance of damage to my 'perfect' armor, which is why I always throw crafted on, just so easy to replace
I'll be the first to admit there's still things I don't know, hopefully I don't put my foot in my mouth *too* often

"Good" Loot Table
This is summary data from 1 229 looted components. Reward, craftedand special components are not included. Samples are collectedfrom Farstar server.Samples are collected between 1.3.2005-27.5.2005.
If you find component that have better value than listed in table, you have just found component that is top 15% component.
Values
Listed values here are average value +- standard deviationof thevalue.
For example: if your looted level 6 engine have top speed 70,1, thenyou have just found engine with good top speed. This means that you have just found engine that is better than 84,2% of engines (assuming that values are normally distributed - which might not be true...).
Fluctation
I am using flucationto indicate how much values are varying in component. This is useful when you are thinking should you reverse engine these components or should you wait better components. It is calculated from:
Fluctation = ( StdD.Value1 / Avg.Value1 + StdD.Value2 / Avg.Value2 +.... +StdD.Value10 / Avg.Value10 ) / 10
For example: Armor mass fluctates 20%. Level 10 armor average mass is 41 051,66, minimal mass 29 649,5, maximal mass 52558,9, standard deviation 9044,61.
"Fluctation" for level 10 armor would be: 9 044,61 / 41 051,66 = 22%
Change / Level
Change / level is just calculated from ( max - min ) / 10. It might not be accurated allways.
