Ok, I've had this happen a few times now. I've been on an Imps tail in DS, hit him with a missile, then started to go to town on him to find I can no longer do damage. This happened last night near the ISD. I clocked a Royal Tie, closed in and let an IR go to drop his shields, armour and other stuff to 50%. As we were near the ISD the lag was terrible, and took me a while to get him back in my sights. I closed in and let go with my cannons, to find i couldn't do any further damage. I'm unsure, but I'm suspecting I was IFF'd. I had a mate with me, who was new to DS so didn't get involved. However, once I told him that i couldn't do any damage, he had a pop and blew him away. My question is, does anyone know if IFF will stop you doing damage in PvP? As in PvE it only lasts a short while till they agro again.

It was probably Clientside lag you experienced.
You can sometimes hit 100% correct on a target, but due to lag the target is actually at adifferent place Serverside, meaning that you hit empty space
Iff will only make enemy "unagro" on you, if you hit them again they will agro back.
It have nothing to do with being able to do damage, it will just give you a small time to escape if you are in trouble
and, I didnt think Imps got the IffScramble.. ?

Imps don't have IFF. Lag from ISD probably let the client/server go out of synch so you hit him on the client but missed on the server.

I fired so much at him, I bet he was wondering what the hell was going on. I sat behind him for over 5 mins before he eventually blew because my mate stepped in. So it's not IFF then, hmmm. I was lagging like a good'un when the ISD flared up mind you

Hehehe, good to see you didn't have the bug mate. PvP kills will get a bit harder than that one though for sure
Talk about easing you into PvP haha.

I do not believe it's a latency issue as the sheild hits/no damage effect is observable by a third party.

There's also something else that could've helped him immensely...with him being in a Royal Guard Interceptor and all...

I was also in the superior ship, being in my JSF. I was all over the guy apart from when the ISD flared up when I lost him a few times. I also managed to ge a few locks, and let 3 missiles go I think. The 1st hit and did most of the damage, the other 2 I suspected he had chaff butdidn't see anyeven thoughthe missiles didn't hit. I'm just trying to find the reason as to why Imps sudenly become indestructable even after taking so much damage. I just need to add, this has happend a few times to me and other pilots, in different ships, from Opps, to JSF's, but they were all imp obviously. Just seeing if anyone else knows of this "bug".
