I've been overt in kessel farming fp and getting tier IV xp every night for the last week, and I have not seen any other players. I had one show up on a /who but he/she was too far away for /target to pick them up. When I'm heading home I'm still overt, flying through tatooine space back to the station, and have not been attacked or anything. I hope as time goes by more and more people will go overt, as a last hope there is always deepspace where you have no choice

I almost never see any Player ships in space. When I do, it is mostly Rebel.
However, I still see way more NPC ships then anything else...
So, I would have to say that the NPCs p0wnz Space on Lowca.

Observations from Ahazi:
Sad to say, there's no one to dominate if there isn't even anything to contest over. From all the my observations in space so far, it is my opinion that there are far less Overts in space than in the ground game GCW... meaning there isn't much at all.
Except for the hardcore PvP'ers, why go Overt at all? In space or on the ground?

Space PvP is a waste of time in most peole's opinions, until they get it balanced.
Nobody dominates on our server and I have yet to see anyone other than myself and guildees overt - ever.
We duel each other and laugh at how boring and/or easy it is.

Space PvP on Chimaera just isn't happening enough to say who's dominating. I'm ALWAYS overt while in space, farming Faction points, and to date have seen precisely 3 overt rebels in all that time (score 2-1 to me, so far
). With the exception of the Black Fleet (who don't officially exist, of course) and EEVIL's Storm Squadron (who conduct the occasional PvP Space patrol, usually without meeting anything), hardly anyone seems to be taking their chances with space PvP.

MANY more rebel pilots than Imps but the space lanes on Sunrunner seem to me to really belong to the Privateers.

Not sure, to be honest. I fly overt on many occassions., and have yet to meet opposition, even once. I have been to Deep Space, it's empty. Thinking it over, I can see why the only thing that dominates space is the sense that PVP is no fun at all. One shot kills are not fun. Decay on parts is not fun. The removal of decay for factioned battle was a good thing on the ground, I think it'd be good in space too, and not just in Deep Space. Adjustment to PVP damage should be tested first, but I think it should be re-examined.
I have looted weapons with max damage tat 4350ish, which, with a 5% RE bonus to the level 10 part would be over 4500 max damage, with mods over .750. If the damage range is around 1k, that leaves an average hit of 4000, using a multiplier of .750, that'd be 3k damge per hit. I know plenty of players using ships without that kind of mojo in their shields and armor combined. I consider my ship heavily armored, and I can't take a hit like that..... and that is one gun. Imagine a pair of those.
At the moment, I don't think anyone dominates in space. I'd like to say "it's hotly contested!", and be able to do so honestly. As it stands though, IMOthere remains work to do. Something is wrong when the PVP zone is a ghost town.

You go Over in space to obtain Faction Points. Blowing up a Tier 4 TIE Fighter/Bomber/Advanced, I end up receiving 30 Faction Points. Doing one Destroy Mission from the first wave to the Squadron Commander nets me over 1000 Faction Points. (I haven't really spent the time counting them up yet...)

)
