Can anyone shed some light as how to accomplish this mission. According to the journal I have to stay with the decoy shuttle and destroy "at least" 4 waves of fighters. Well I'm now on my 8th or 9th try (lost count) and I've killed well over 6 waves each time I tried doing this mission. This is beyond frustrating. If anyone can give me a clue as to where I'm going wrong with this mission I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise I'm just going to /bug it every day and post each time with the bug # until I get a dev response which will most likely be "it's working as intended".

Heh. I am on the same mission, but I have only tried it twice so far. I think I got up to 8-9 waves of Rebels the last time, I was having no problems with them at all really. They certinly didn't hurt me, but they just kept coming. I get it down to 2 left and *BAM* another wave pops in.
By the time the last couple rolled in, we had travelled to close enough to a random spawn of priates that I had to deal with also.
What pissed me off the most was when the shuttle splut, there were only like 5-6 rebels out, but they still said "I was not doing a good enough job, and the rebels arn't going to buy my pathetic excuse at making it look like the shuttle is actually improtant." Not exactly those words, but close enough.
No idea what the heck that means, as I killed close to 30 rebel ships.
I was not a happy camper at the end of that one, and havent been back to it in a few days.

I have a post on this very mission from about two weeks ago. It is by far the worst mission in Storm Squadron. You have to completely kill four waves, meaning that you must finish off a wave before the next one spawns before the lambda shuttle finish his route. If you finish off a wave after the next wave spawns, then you have to clear the last wave and the new wave for it to count. Its near impossible since you have to kill A-wings, slippery little suckers, unless you have a good wingman to help you gang up on them one by one. I think I did the mission at least ten times. Oh, and you have to stay close to the shuttle during all of this.
Good luck!

If you have 2 Wingmen this mission is no problem. It is possible to solo it, but you have to kill all 4 awings in less than 2 minutes or something crazy like that. The 4 of them have to be destroyed before the next ones spawn. I did it with just 1 wingman and it was very hard, I had to do it over once. One of my guild members did it this last week and he had 2 wingmen, me and the person that helped me on my tier3's. I swear his mission took half the time mine did and no one got hurt.
Grab a couple wingmen and have fun flying instead of trying to go solo and getting frustrated. 90 speed engines don't hurt either

yep, geddeo just hit it, i also had submitted a ticket about it, and like he said, gotta kill the wave in less than 2 min for it to count
well this should be fun for me, i play when the servers are pretty dead usualy and have no set playing time and a fit throwing baby lol
i guess i just need to get good enough to kill them in 2 min
which would proly be easy if they wernt fooking Awings

I had trouble with this one and needed one wingman to finish it. I also submitted a bug and a ticket. CSR was no help of course, but I do consider it a bug, if only in the lack of proper instructions in the mission description. Players couldattempt this mission over and over for daysand never figure out what they're doing wrong.

i was just on my way here to post exactly the same thing, iv taken to going back and counting them after i fail every time now, last 4 attempts over 30 killed with 2-3 remaining when i fail, that works out to atleast 6 or 7 waves destroyed every time.... and its not like there a problem to take out or anything, iv now spent longer on this mission that the 2222 and 3222 ones, and they were a lot more dificult.
i think i must be missing something or this is some kind of bug, its getting very frustrateing tho.

Yes, there is some kin dof timer set on that mission. I had many troubles with this mission in beta and posted about it, Dev's said they will update the mission description so that it would be clear what to do. Apparently they didn't... Anyway I did this mission solo in with 1st try on live server. You have to be very quick to destroy the waves. YOu might want to modify your ship for this mission to have more firepower for the cost of armor, for instance. Since the ships mostly attack the transport but not you.

I did this mission a while back, and I do not remember finishing a wave before the next one came. The big thing I noticed was that the shuttle kept saying "stay close or they will notbuy it". So, I'd do a dogfight with one enemy, then boost full speed back to the shuttle do a loop around it and then attack the closest target. Seemed to work.
Go Storm Squad!!!! It is a long tough path, but you get teh enjoyment of knowing you did it
Of course this comes from a long time carbineer and non-dot pikeman
