I've heard that I can use these to gain bonuses to my combined shield points. Which programs do that, and is there a downside? Are both sets useful?
Thanks

Neither of these types of programs "boost" your shields beyond their totalnormal stats.
Shield adjustboosts the maximum stat onone half of your shield arc and subtracts the same amount from the maximum stat on the other half. The shields still have to charge normally.
Shield reinforcementfills one half of your shield arc by takingan equal amount of chargeaway from the other half. The maximums stay the same.
Emergency Shields drains your capacitor in order to quickly recharge one of your shield arcs, I think.

Both adjust and reinforce are now kinda useless to me now that the neutrals have shield shunt chips.
I used to use reinforce chips to take 50% of my rear and put them on the front shields when doing bomb runs in the B wing, but that left the rear shields weaker.
Imo neutral chip cap to shield shunt 3 is the way to go especially if using a capacitor overload chip it takes 75% of your cap power and immediatly puts that energy to your shields for a fast recharge.
A partner and i were messin around in kessel and we duoed the 2 vettes out there using cap to shield shunt i think 1 of the corvettes touched my armr only once for minimal damage,.

shield shunt????
What is that? I never read anything anywhere about a neatral ship program that has anything to do with shields other than the rebel ones.

Neutrals now have a droid program that takes all the energy from your capacitor and shifts it to your shields. I've never used it myself so I'm not sure exactly how effective it is.

Its a great command, I use Shunt 4 (with cap overcharge 3) and it dropps a TON to my shields and recharges quite fast.
I think the shunt commands are the following percentage of cap storage to shileds
- 25%
- 50%
- 75%
- 100%
Like I mentioned I use 4 because if you need a recharge you are not worried about firing at anything most of the time

Try to fight in deep space with 6-7 bwings and 3 awngs shooting at you while you shoot at another faighter and you'll see you will need to use the shunt 3 instea of 4

I am in kessel and deep space all the time, and while I understand where ya are going, with capacitor overcharge 3 I am firing again in just a few seconds. And with my cap at 1695 the extra few hundred that is shunted to shields is worth the few seconds I loose in firing ability
But that is just me, you do make a great point about the use of shunt to shields 3 over 4! Great to hear differing points of view.

I love the cap to shield shunt program..my privateer friend gave me level 4, whcih yes does drain your cap, but I like it for getting out of sticky situations...better than the rebel ability of Eshields since Eshields disables your weapons for much longer time than it takes my cap to recharge fully from the shunt program. I need to get capacitor overload, is this a privateer or imperial program?
