Thread: Playing Pirate: Docking with Freighters

Okay, so I was playing pirate last night, and disabled a heavy frieghter. I did an /inspect, and saw that there were "computer parts" aboard. I disabled the ship and used /dock. A little animation played, a few seconds passed, and it said that the cargo was transferred.... now I don't know what happened to it. It said that I got the computer parts, but I got no loot in my inventory, nor my datapad. I even tried docking with another ship later, and it said that I couldn't transfer the cargo because I was full (or I assumed that was the reason). This was in the same flight.

My question is... where's my booty?!

I used the search in this forum, and no one else seems to have tried this. I think having piracy in the game would add a whole new dimension, especially if more ground/space connection is made later and interiors are built for the freighters that we can dock and loot.

Note to SOE, though: not every average freighter should be filled with super battle droids!

Wow. 5 points to you for trying to do this.

What's interesting is there were system responses saying that you had transferred the cargo, and when you tried to get more, it told you it couldn't transfer.

Perhaps you stumbled onto a system that they haven't fully implemented yet for Smugglers or some way of piracy?

There are missions in which you "deliver an item while hostiles attack you" in every profession. I still don't consider [Smuggler's Alliance] pilots to be Smugglers, nor 'Smuggling' - at least not any more than Rebel Pilots or Imperial Pilots might sometimes "smuggle", with a lower-case s - JFreeman - 10/6/04

Same thing, would be some cool content though if you were able to get loot from docking with freighters you disabled.

Same thing happened to me.

I saw a civilian transport and inspected it. There was a "weapons shipment" aboard. I decided that a civilian transport had no need of weapons so I disabled and docked. I was amazed when the system told me I had the weapons!!

Sadly I saw nothing in my inventory (or anywhere else).

I came to check the forums and found your post.

Every freighter I've inspected has been empty...

I definately hope this is added in some way, but there should be some sort of consequence. Losing townsperson/CorSec/Imperial faction points would make sense. Would also make sense if the freighters had escorts.

imperials can inspect cause i've done it (nothing was found both inspections) and i have a docking icon, but i haven't docked yet. i thought it may be for bathroom breaks - just cruise up to the deathstar, dock, and use their bathroom and vending machines before i head back out into space. nothing makes piloting better than an empty bladder, and a full code red mountain dew.

O and A, xm 202: party rock !!

Phased out MCH.... Theyve nerfed my entire profession. now wt.f do i do? We play online games because we enjoy the immense level of detail and diverse options and the ability to do a near-infinite number of activitites and professions. with every balance more and more of our options are stripped away and the game is slimmed down and streamlined. its currently basically a bugged console game. if i wanted to play a console SW game, i would play the KOTOR series because the knights of the old republic games are fantastic. even lego SW for my son's gamecube is more enjoyable at this point.

Ha! I was just thinking that! I've been reading around for a half hour, while the launchpad sits open and ready for me to log in.
