Thread: RSF can now attack Imperials

WHY?

You had it right the first time. Why would the pilots who defend the queen of the Emperor's home planet attack his ships? I know a handful of people griped as they thought that, as Neurtal pilot, they should be able to attack everything for their own gain. I joined the RSF because I KNEW they were aligned with the Empire! I know others that did the same. Is it too much to ask to bring back our non-attackable Imperials? Its kinda stinks for me since Im Imperial on the ground.

I agree.

Especially changing this without even mentioning this in patchnotes caused a bit of havoc when I helped a guildie on an imperial mission with my RSF Pilot yesterday (a miss to a rebel ship accidently did hit one of the imperial vessels we were supposed to defend and all of a sudden I had to deal with a bunch of rebels including a nova courier *and* an even larger bunch of imperials including a decimator).

Change it back to where it was please, it made a lot of sense that the RSF was factionally aligned with the Empire.

I agree with this as well. However there needs to be a better understanding when choosing a squadron. The descriptions given at the time of choosing are a bit short and cryptic.

The pilot coodinators and recruiters need to make sure that recruits fully understand what each squadron is and how it differs from the others. Choosing a squadron should not be Russian Roulette..

I took a screenshot from the RSF description, I really should upload this somewhere.

Anyone who actually reads that descriptions should be completly clear about the consequence 'imperial aligned'.

Relax... let's not jump the gun just yet.

They just introduced a 'no decay' rule into Deep Space PvP combat - perhaps while twiddling with that, they introduced a 'bug' which causes the RSF to be able to attack Overt Imperials in space?

Either way, I'd say, assume it's a bug until it's officially stated otherwise.

This maybe true. I just wanted to have a post about it. You know for the standard venting, complaining and other such communication

IF it's a bug, then SOE continues it's great tradition of introducing bad bugs, breaking stuff that was working.

IF it's not a bug, then RSF should have their landing priviledges at the Emperor's retreat revoked, and they should be attackable by Imperials. Heck why not just make RSF a rebel faction if they can attack imperials.

Two thumbs down for SOE.

Tiggs: This change was bad. Accidently hit a freighter I was supposed to defend as an RSF pilot (The mission to access the starport terminal at the imp retreat)

Can you please provide me with some information so we can understand what is going on better.

* Is this in a normal zone or Deep Space? Normal
* If in a normal zone did they just come from Deep Space? No
* Are the RSF Pilots Rebels on the ground? No, I am Imperial on the ground
* Where did the RSF Pilots declare? I didnt declare
* Is this RSF PC’s attacking Imperial NPC’s? YES
* Is this RSF NPC’s attacking Imperial PC’s? no

This also happened on my kessel master mission to destroy 30 rebel craft. I kept hitting the 10 NPC ties that were buzzing around attacking the rebel NPCs and then I had to fight off both

  • Are the RSF Pilots Rebels on the ground? Nope Imperial Col.

  • Where did the RSF Pilots declare? Not declaired. Was working on 1st master mission in kessel

  • Is this RSF PC’s attacking Imperial NPC’s? Stray shots hit Imp targets while I was attacking reb teir 5's for my mission and suddenly the Imp Npc's would aggro on me. (I just thought an A-wing was hard to hit, try hitting an tie advanced)

  • Is this RSF NPC’s attacking Imperial PC’s?

Thank you for the feedback everyone, the fix will be making its way out in an upcoming publish. Until then remember to verify targets before you pull the trigger because there is nothing friendly about friendly fire.
