Hi everyone! I finally got myself a grievous fighter. After a long trek thru the Myyrdril Caverns my group and I killed Necrosis and looted the deed. I was excited about the ship as soon as i got it and went to the starport to set it up immediatly thereafter. I was sorely dissappointed with the mass though. 90k mass? Wouldn't the commander of the entire Droid Army carry and use a ship with a little more....OOMPH!? As an Alliance Ace pilot I simply cannot find this ship useful with so little mass. I can't fit any of my good equipmet in there at all.
I would suggest moving the mass of this ship up to at least 105 k. This will allow alot of room for many useful equipment. ( Well at least tier four equipment).
Any suggestions/ comments are greatly appreciated.

*grins* Only an Rebel would be disappointed in 90k mass, and be flummoxed on how to get any of the "good stuff" into a ship that 'small'.

heh......wait till you actually fly this thing to place judgement on it........if its anything like the Jedi Starfighter....which i think the stats are, you won't need any high end equipment to make this ship UBER.........hell in my jedi fighter i use 2 lv 6 RE'd guns, and a lv 6 RE'd Shield thats only 1.3k hp, and 10 regen..........throw in a good booster and nothing can touch you!!!

One more hardpoint and 25k more mass than a standard A, were you really trying to jam in a second gun with over 25k mass? T8 my friend T8 ![]()

NEVER go imperial!!
Or maybe you should, see what its like to squeeze 2 lvl 7 guns, and other good stuff into a 65k mass Tie advanced, then, you'll have an all new respect for a 90k mass fighter.

I squeezed 2 level 8 RE'd reward guns, a RE'd level 8 reward shield anda pre-nerf level 6 Engine in mine, the rest of the equipment was level 1 or level 2. You can fit a huge amount into the new ships (Greivous and JSF) compared to an Awing for Rebs or a TIE Advanced for Imps. I wouldsuggest you take another look at your components and re-evaluate them, optimise for mass.

If you want to learn how to manage mass, go Imperial pilot.
I guarentee you'll learn a few things about mass management. As a Rebel pilot myself, it took me a long time to start actually looking at mass:effectiveness. I'm still not much good at it

Man, I'm a freelancer and even I managed to squeeze all my crap into my greivous. Whatever happened to jury-rigging a pvp-worthy a-wing?

90k mass a problem??? So does that mean 65k mass on the A-wing was a problem before ROTW?
I've stuffed a Lvl.10 weapon (a very good RE of course) in 90k. If I want defences I swap it for a RE'ed reward shield and lvl.8 reward weapon. If it wasn't for the insane PYR on the new ships I'd still be flying the TIE Advanced and A-wing on my alt character, but I need to stay competative.I recently dropped Alliance pilot becasue I hate the Z-95 and there's NO way I'm going to be flying the heavy version.
The trick is to get a good combo of crafted and RE parts for you ships and a flight computer full of programs. If you're not running any of the good programs like reactor overload or engine overload, I suggest you get those. They will boost the performance and output of your parts to something that is 2-3 levels higher so you can use lighter reactors, capacitors, engines, etc.
I think the mass of the new ships should be left alone, however it would be nice if the older ships had thier mass and performancebrought up so they are still viable against the new ships.

My thoughts exactly - hell the greivous has almost as much mass as the Xwing and 1 less gun - take all your crap out of your X and leave one gun out - job done!
