Before the change to Kesel, I could attack both Rebel and Imperial NPCs in the sector, being a Privateer. Now I'm stuck as Imperial in Kessel after going to Deep Space as Imperial... what's the deal here?

I'm not even focusing on that stuff. If Kessel is going to be stuck PvE only, at least let me attack both factions again... that's what I'm trying to figure out here.

Are you still "declared?"

I've not done space PVP yet (and probably won't) but I would guess if you are still a "declared" Imperial, you can't shoot other Imperials until you un-declare.

I just went to Kessel and could attack either Rebel or Imperial ships (I am CorSec Privateer)

If you previously declared overt, you'll need to land at a space station to go back to neutral before jumping into Kessel.

I've landed several times, I can talk to the stations and they offer me to go overt. In any non-kessel zones, I can still attack imperial NPCs. It's just that when I go to Kessel, I'm magically flipped to Imperial and can only hit Rebs.

Which Space Station did you use to enter Kessel?

I used the Neutral Last Nav point station, same one I always used before.

This is a bug

It happened to me when I was the first person to go into Deep Space outside of beta.

You get locked into the faction that you claimed when you went to Deep Space. It is not like true overtness because you won't get faction points for killing enemy ships and it only effects PvP zones (now this is a moot point since Kessel is no longer PvP).

However, there is hope. This bug is localized to your ship. Sooooo.... just destroy your current ship, buy a new chasis, and all will be fixed, lol. Sucks I know, but its worth it to be yellow to everything in Kessel =P

I've read a thread or two on this subject. I believe it is a legitimate bug.

Okay hope you haven't destroyed your ship yet as its only a matter of stripping it down to chassis, deed log and generate it again.

I was having similar problems a week or so ago, tried tat and I can now shoot anything again in Kessel.

Spoke to CSRs before I found this out and they couldn't do a thing to assist me, found out about it and added a comment to the open ticket to let them know a solution for the problem should it arrive again and I didn't even get a thank you or ANYTHING! They just closed the ticket.
