Thread: Kashyyyk Vette escort/capture mission issue. Watch out.

Ok, thought I'd at very least bring this up so others can watch out for it. Maybe if we're lucky, it might be fixed. Not sure if Rebs or Imps have the same problem either though.

Basically, I went to do the vette capture/escort to obtain my Vaksai. My group disabled the vette and we began the escort. After capturing the vette, I noticed it was yellow to me still. Yelled at all the Privateers in my group to watch their shots if it was yellow to them, don't want to inadvertantly help the enemy take it down after all. Everything was going pretty well until things started getting laggy. Due to the lag, we could'nt control our stray shots as well. At some point in time or another, we all managed to clip the vette with a stray shot. This lead to it being red to us and opening fire on us as well. So now we are dodging fire from enemies as well as the vette we are escorting. So here's most of my group, trying to keep enemies off the vette and being shot at by them both. Funny thing is the vette kept doing the "take out the hostiles" dialog while trying to shoot us in the back We didn't want to waster our IFFs if necessary, but with the first gunboat showing up any time we didn't have much choice. Still ended up beating the mission, was just majorly annoying. Doesn't make sense for the ship we are escorting to open fire on us after one stray shot grazes it's shields.

Anyway, any neutral doing the vette should consider this a warning. Watch your shots.

Failed mine the first try.

I started with a Bstrike (first mistake).

Then systematically disabled the vette and while the operative was capturing it, finished off the escort.

...escort dead, vette captured......ok ... hey guys... Yeah you in the Bombers knock it off!

Apparently the Bstrike I called in didn't seem to understand that we had captured the ship, so they kept blasting away, finally departing and leaving the vette with just a sliver of it's bridge left.

Of course this lead to an eventual failure, because all the incoming enemy waves aproach head on ... firing right at the bridge. There was just too many of em for me to catch them all solo before they got a couple shots in.

I don't recall it going yellow at all ... I'm sure I might have nicked it with a shot or two, but it never went agro on me after the capture.

It'd be nice if you were able to call off Bomber Strikes.

Something like /bomberstrike_recall

I attempted it once soloand succeed. The mission was a lot easier than I thought. Used /bstrike3 too, but I was able to eliminate all the escorts and disable thevette before the bstrike packagekilled thelast gun on the ship. With only one gun turretleft, the vette was able to defend itself against the attacking fighters. The gunboats dropped in at some point but theyneither attacked the vette nortried to go after me, strange.

Just watched the missus solo this twice, once for the Vaksai and once for the heavy X-Wing. The key to making it a lot easier is to take out gun 5 and ride underneath it 'til you get to within 4k of the jump off point, then drop the shields and engine. Let the crew retake it and then let it make the rest of the 4k run. The enemy fighters and gunships come in waves and by the first gunship wave, the vette's just about ready to jump. By the time you've cleaned up the fighters, it's mission completed, collect your deed.

What's really wrong with the game is the players

Oh, and can we get a moratorium on the word "whiner"? It's pointless and stupid to call other people whiners when you yourself are actually whining about them.

I did not run into this problem, once the vessel was captured my bombers stopped shooting it.
