Thread: Need help for Brain dead noob

I wish they had a tutorial, it would be so much easier. I have a Y-wing that I just got. I notice in ship managment that there are 2 weapon slots, I put my mining laser in the first one and my blaster in the second one. I went to key mapping and assigned first weapon to #1 on keyboard and the second to #2.
I go out to mine and was successful, but when I press #2 nothing happens, I was being attacked and it took for ever to kill 1 with my laser gun, so I ran and got away.
What am I doing wrong.

The Y-wing has a turret requires a player. Also note if you are defending yourseilf with a player in the turret it is very resrictive, so fly nice. get yourself a longprobe and you are good to go.

The Y-Wing is a two player ship - you need a co-pilot to operated the turret gun.
The Y-Wing longprobe ( tier 3 version of the Y-Wing ) is single seater and the pilot shoots both weapon mounts.

Great, so I built the wrong ship. What a waste. Can it be redeeded. What is a good solo ship for a tier 1 who wants to mine and protect himself

The longprobe would be good, but you need to get yourself to 2111 at least to be able to use it.
I'm about to master rebel pilot, I think I am going to outfitmy Heavy x-wing as a mining ship, personally, until they fix the Y-8 and I can get some friends to go with me.
