More Multi Player Ships

Guns Boats

Shuttles

Capital Ships (corvettes, friggates, star destroyers, cruisers, guild owned, expensive / very complex to maintain, serve as a launching point)

Ability to........

Disable, board, capture / steal components / cargo (think episode IV).

Space stations, linked to the GCW.

1 Buildable per planet with the abscence of any opposing faction PVP bases on that planet asserting complete factoinal control on that planet.

Link the ground game to space by protecting that space station with a ground based shield generator that would have to first be disabled before an attack is made on the space station.

If a planet is under factional control disallow overt players from traveling to that system.

Institute a requirement for troop transports to drop factional forces on a planet for to attack the shield generator.

A more active role for people that aren't piloting:

Reloading missles in multiplayer ships.

Ability to pull out comonents / replace them in flight with a time delay to bring the system online (maybe something for a shipwright in a capital ship / multiplayer).

Give ground professions bonus to ships.

Smugglers, reduce mass of components to allow a more ticked out ship.

Bounty Hunters, Increase speed / weapon damage.

Jedi More manoverability.

to name a few.

Link ground missions to space.

Bounty Hunters, track down smugglers /jedi in space.

Allow Smugglers to smuggle illegal cargo.

Policing missions for sectors of space if your faction controls it:

Patrol duty. Intercept players bringing contraband into your sector (scan them, detect contraband, grants you the ability to attack).

Allow the smuggler the ability to jettison his / her cargo, fail smuggling mission, generates a bounty.

Smugglers get a high chance of not being detected.

Intercept player ships containing opposing overt faction members trying to land on your planet. (scan them, detect contraband, grants you the ability to attack).

More multi-player ship? Yes, me too. I have my doubts about large-scale ships, but more turreted, player controlled ships would be nice.

In flight POB reloading? Sure, I think so.

In flight component changing? That gets a bit sticky.

Ground Prof bonuses? No. Please no. Pretty, pretty please no. It doesn't matter if you are a Chef/BE or a Melee stacker, you are on a level playing field in space. I'd hate to change that.

Ground/Space mission combinations? Answer here is actually 'more' rather than some. BH ground space missions are fine, as are Smuggler combo missions - just as long as the ground profession is not affecting the *abilities* of the space profession.

My thoughts, anyway.

I agree with SheenaBrelya, let's try to keep space in space, and the ground on the ground. To give smugglers an advantage in space would give the jedi community something they can use to try and get skill bonuses in space, and right now space combat is fair and stable. We don't need a revamp in space, but more content is always welcome.

More ships are fine, as long as they are comparable to existing ships.

Capital Ships are fine, as long as they are comparable to existing ships (meaning if your ship is 4 times better than mine, then it should require 4 times the amount of people to fly). As it is, I'll bet we'll have to wait a while to see this feature.

In-space repair/reload? I would be fine with idea, but it should not be fast and it should not be free. For example, if your engines are disabled in space, you should not be able to repair them in any less then 60 seconds (or something like that, time is critical and you're dead in half that time anyway if you're crippled). On top of that, you should be required to have at least novice shipwright, which is the most appropriate choice out of all the ground based profs. And on top of that, you should only be able to repair maybe half the damage, and normal damage penalties apply (like item decay). I believe something like that would not be un-balancing and give no pilot an obvious edge over another pilot.

Also, if a system like this were introduced, I think that some items should not be able to be player repaired in space. The most obvious would be armor, because it is outside your ship and not easily fixed. Chassis damage would also be something you would have to have repaired on ground or at a space station. I'd even go so far as to say that weapons should not be able to be repaired because they are also on the outside of the ship.

I think he meant in POB ships where repairs are curently possible but not reloading missile launchers and such.

We will probably get more multiplayer (and other) ships in ROTW and these ships will hopefully be more viable with new special MP ship components. At the moment these components dont seem to be dramatically better but maybe that changes until release.

I agree that we should leave ground on the ground and space in space. Only defining advantage should be the pilot's abilities and to a (very minor) degree equipment as well.
