I've also heard of helms looted from tier 1 ships but noone can seem to confirm. Any horses mouths out there?

Eh... I thought it was just a 1 in 1000000000000 chance from high tier (4 or 5) ships...

I *know* I got mine from a Tier 2 or Tier 1 ship during a duty mission out of the corellia corsec trainer. I was only 1101 (or so) when I got it, so I wasn't fighting Tier 4-5 like everyone says you have to fight to get the helmet.

I think the reality of the situation is that any BS has a chance to drop the helmet. It is just that everyone gets to ace and hasn't gotten one so they do the Tier 4-5 because that is what they are used to. Personally, if I were looking for another helmet, I would just do tier 3ish BS for a chance at some decent loot along with ease of kill.
