This is not an easy mission.

Would there be any aces willing to lend a hand this sunday?

Heh... actually, it is quite easy. Speed is the key, so get a ship that goes faster than 1200, and you're fine... and don't forget to bring missiles. And in case you haven't tried capital ship attacks before, you have to take out shields, secondary shields and then engine. Use missiles for this, they don't require line of sight. And remeber not to aggro the vette until the escort is gone. Then sneak up on gun 5, blow it off, and you're safe as long as you stay below the 'vette. Now, lock missiles on shields, secondary shields and then engine, and you're good to go. Now for the escort... when the gunboats show up, agro them all, lure them away from the vette, and do head-to-heads with them. You propably won't be able to take them out, but you only need to keep them busy 'till the vette reaches the station. If you can find the time, blow up any fighters that show up after the gunboats...

I've killed that vette many times and I have never taken out gun #5 or any gun. I did the rebel version again last night in a Heavy Z95. The neutral and rebel versions of the mission are identical except for the flight path of the vette.

Hide behind the engines of the vette and use missles to take out the shields. Then shoot the engines a few times until you get the "disabled" message. Stay tight behind the vette while the engineers retake the ship. Once the ship is retaken it is safe to come out from behind the engines.

Tip: The longer you wait to disable it, the less time you will need to spend defending it. Also, you do not need to be anywhere near the vette when it hypers to complete the mission successfully.

hard? the vaksai, red tie and heavy X quests are actually quit easy if you are a good pilot and have a decent ship.

Also, if you stay clear of the gunboats and don't attack them they won't attack you. The Vette will do a really good job at defending itself from them. I solo'ed the as a MP in a Krayt using the same techniques as Paladin stated.

Handed out by the Space Station.

Can a Imperial Pilot get this one? Or do you have to be a freelancer?
