1. A command to not view the cockpit. It was in the X-wing games, and it only left up the radar, and cross hairs. I loved that view and cannot find it.


2. A way to fire the top gun on my Y-wing without having a gunner present. If I load it with an ion cannon, can I fire it instead of my nose guns?

Also... doesanyone used the pulled-back (3rd person) view in a dog fight?

1) There's an option in the display under the Options menu.

2) Need to get a Y-Wing Longprobe at 2XXX to get pilot control over both guns. Its a separate ship, not a modification.

Just to try and clarify a bit

1. Pretty sure its the last entry in the Misc tab under Options (Ctrl + O). It does not currently work with POB ships though, or when you are in a turret in someone else's ship.

2. There are two versions of the Y-Wing. The regular one and the longprobe version. To use the 2nd gun in the regular Y-Wing, you need to find a real player character to come up with you and aim the gun. The longprobe version is the one where the pilot can shoot both guns at without anyone else. Its a bit cumbersome design at work there... But no, if you have an ion cannon in the gunner's seat in the regular Y-Wing, you cannot switch to it instead of firing your nose blasters. You'll only be able to fire the nose blasters, you'd need someone else to man the gunner's turret.

You don't have to fly a Y-Wing however, you can look for a Heavy Z-95. These have around 95k mass. Even though they lack a 2nd gun that the Longprobe does have, its smaller profile and increased maneuverability outweigh a second gun IMO.

I usually don't use the 3rd person POV during a dogfight. Some people swear by it though, so I guess its up to you.
