in concept things devs put up
Ships like the Sorosuub Luxury yacht would now be able to hold larger groups for social gatherings (IE parties). Ships like the YT-1300, which are more combat oriented, would still require that a passenger be in the same group as the pilot to enter a station or manage a turret. However, they would still be able to have non-grouped members roaming the corridors.
To tie the passengers together, we could automatically create a new chat tab that would add all of that ship's passengers to the chat.
A command that would allow the owner of the ship to kick player's from the ship would also need to be added.
A list interface allowing the player to select all invitees from the people in the room around them might also be needed.
This would have to be limited to 30 or fewer players.
need a smuggler to do

This is a nice start, but what about smuggling illegal items? Like sliced weapons/slicing components? What aout smuggling spices?

I'm sorry...this strikes me as lame. Real lame. This is definatly not what I'd call "Smuggler Content" Why should it need a smuggler to get someone on board a ship, unless they weren't allowed to be there? Smugglers are just slicers/spicers/faction point buyers, and now they're going to be groupers. What's so smuggerlish about that?

edit:
after reading the whole thread... i think this section doesn't work taken out of context. i think it's more intended to list the benefits/consequences/current restrictionsof the change to allow smugglers to beable to form large groups. i think they cover the smuggling part pretty darn well in the section above it and it sounds kind of cool.

I saw that thread more as a two part post, one involving smuggling, and a separate one for group dynamics.
