I'm wanting to start PVPing in my Oppressor. I haven't PVPed before, and am currently reading the PVP and flying in general guides on the forums. One thing I wanted to know, though, is there anything I should be doing different in an Opp? Mainly I think it'll just be anticipating movements more so I can begin turns in time, but i'm the newb here.

utilize the advantages the oppressor chassis gives, and try to negate the disadvantages. what advantages does it have? mass... 3 missle tubes....and a small hitbox (for heavy fighters)disadvantages? large hitbox (compared to small fighters), slow sleed, lack of manuverability. how you overcome those last 3 is kind of up to you, and vary widely from pilot to pilot.

imo take the engine that most likely fits your flying style (hit and run or high YPR) and plug that into your chass. then plug 3 image recs into it and go from there based on experience with what you need and what you don't.

here's a project that i've been working on...

level 10 engine

reward shield

level 10 armor plates

small capacitor

level 7 reactor

level 10 booster

1 tri cannon RE

3 missles

prenerf DI

it doesn't really have PVE application (efficient PVE application anyway) but that's OK. also, it takes some work to fit all that on your ship so it's not something you can just run out and emulate if you think "man that would rock" but substitute the level 10 booster for a level 8 and you save yourself 10k mass, maybe you like it but want more of a hit and run type of thing, you could put a 118 crafted in instead of the level 10 and save 7-15 k mass. you get the idea.

I've got myself some engines I want to RE, just need more parts. Specifically a 74ish PYR with about 90 speed at lvl10, and some lvl8s at about 68. Planning to go to kessel or somesuch to get some more loot to fill in the spots for REs, but I don't know an efficient place to farm that kind of loot other than deep.

imo if you are looking for 10 engines, deep space is your spot.

if you get PVP while you have a mediocre ship, all the better you'll be when you have a good one. =)
