Thread: Getting Tired or the Drunken Bee Effect

Seriously... been about 2-3 months since I have seen this bug hit me again... Why the hell can't the devs fix this problem?


As far as I can tell, it has to be a connection issue, cause I had 2 other guildmates in the same space as me and they saw ME flying around like crazy, while I saw them and ALL of the npc ships flying around like crazy. Even with this new space expansion I won't be able to do crap if this keeps on happening. Because when this is happening I can't effectively shoot anything (Even if it registers on my client). Most if not all of my hit's do nothing while I am like this, and I know I am not the only one to have this happen...



PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM.....



(I know you don't fix problems... this is SOE!)

Seems to happen due to lag, and driver issues (there's a great thread on this, but I'm too tired to work the search system right now). The driver issue could go either way, being SOE's fault or the fault of the user. However, having up to date drivers will definately make a difference. I installed my last mouse wrong (ironically having been in a hurry to go fly) and had unbelievable drunken bumblebees. I patched the mouse, problem went away.


I've also noticed when my connection is shakey, they go into bumblebee mode.


It seems hard to pin down why it happens some nights. What I do know is it got a lot worse post-RotW, which puts at least part of the problem on SOE's end.

I've never actually had the 'drunken bee' effect, unless I've got web pages loading in the background.

It's a connection issue. Happened to me a couple days ago and it went away after they reset the server. Somebody also suggested to me it was a motherboard issue...it CANT be a MB issue unless it happebns 100% of the time. It wouldnt go away for a few months and then come back.

Hmm i had it bad yesterday, ground ran fine, space was impossible. 400ping and 0% packet loss, also everything my side was running 100% ie HAD to be a server issue.

I went in-game after this and now I have the problem again. I simply have nothing to say good about this game lately... I really want to play and have fun and they just make is so fuggin hard all the time

Unless it's a driver issue that's getting funky when booting/rebooting or running other apps. It's not 100% connection for everyone.

Do you have an nForce 2 motherboard?



Its been suggested that it could be a problem with that motherboard. If thats true, then SOE would not be able to fix it since its a physical problem and not software.

I have an Nforce2 board, and I didn't ever have this problem until coming back to the game recently.

The only timeI see this happen is when I go into DS early in the morning. Everything is in the center and trying to blow the crap out of everything else.
