I played SWG for a year, quit right before JTL came out. I resubscribed a few weeks ago to see how the game was, and I'm considering getting JTL and ROTW.

My question - is space combat, like ground combat, group-oriented or primarily solo? Second, what are general prices for player made ships? (Sorry if this has already been asked, I can;'t get the Search function to work.) Lastly, should I get JTL or not ?

Much of the space combat you will do solo. There are some big missions that involve taking out larger ships. Some people have soloed these missions, but a lot of people have grouped to do them.

General prices of player made starships range quite a bit depending on server and the shipwright. Most ships will set you back somewhere between the 100k and 500k range. For some of the master level ships you may pay more. I have payed less than 100k on a lot of ships by actively searching the bazaar. You may also find a really well to do shipwright who can sell ships for cheap.

Should you get JTL and ROTW? Absolutely. There is a lot of fun content and great loot in both these expansions.

Solo will depend on your skills as a pilot. Everything as it stands right now can be solod, but it's a lot more fun with a few friends.

When you're looking for ships, search under the Misc category of the bazaar, you can usually find used deeds for the ships you need when grinding at bargin prices. When you find a ship you like, then find a shipwright to make you a nice chassis with maximum mass.

Pricewise, it does vary quite a bit.

I've bought a Decimator for 800k, a Bel-22 for 2 mil and a Heavy TIE for 350k. Of them all, personally, I like The Bel and the Hvy TIE.

Edit: Personally, I love Space. The combat is all twitch based, very similar to X-Wing Alliance, the controls/droid programs give you a lot of options to configure your ship to your play style. I've found that you get a much better "Star Wars" feel JTL/ROTW than you ever get on the ground.
