Thread: Please clean up the gunboats after you kill the 'Vette

It's a lot easier for you to take care of the gunboats after the 'vette is dead and before they get to the endpoint and someone else has to kill them after they start spinning. The next 'Vette will not spawn unless these are taken care of.

A lot of people don't care, even if they are aware of this. It'd take an extra minute or two that they'd rather not expend - so what if it ruins someone else's night? They "got theirs."

Jumped in to Kessel last night ready to do my master mission....

Time to kill gunboats from previous vette - 5 minutes....

Time to wait for our vette to jump in - 2 hours.

Have a little consideration folks, and clean up after yourselves. We killed the GB's after our vette, it doesn't take long.

There's an easy fix for this. Simply make it so that if you complete the quest and leave Kessel before someone in your group kills the gunboats than all your spaceships are permenantly deleted, you lose all your pilot skills, you're unregistered for JTL and your account is cancelled immedaitely so you need to pay again to start back up again, and buy JTL again if you want to try harder to be considerate next time.

Or maybe just make the gunboats part of the guest "You got the corvette now get it's escorts!" But I really prefer my first idea.

Yeah I think the quest should invlve you killing the fighter escorts, the gbs and the vette. That would solve the problem. Most people kill the fighters as it is, the only extra step would be to kill the gbs and those are easy as hell after the vette is gone.

Or alternatively, why not modify the code so that the GBs 'bug out' at the waypoint as well?! If they really were escorts, surely they should be reporting back, or something, not just sitting there like lemons... ?!

I've notyet done the master mission but I can't help but think "what if you simply can't take out the GBs?". Its not too much of a biggy if you're in a large group or are pretty good at taking out GBs but what about the other folk... Those that take out the vette as instructed but do not have it in them to then take on the two GBs? I'll admit that when I do it, I won't be taking out the GBs simply because I can't but I will try and find enough people who will be able to for the sole reason of not balls-ing up the next guy(s)chances but I can't guarantee I'll find anyone or be able to solo them both.

To summarise, if you can take them out then do.. It'sa big help...If you can't, tell someone who can... If you can't find someone, die trying. At least give it a go! However if that fails.... Well.... I guess its a case of accept the abuse.

What would be a bigger help of course would be to 'correct' the GB bug which is what I view it as.

The same happened to us last night on Valcyn. While they should at least despawn when they hit the exit point, I would prefer to see the GBs stay to defend the disabled vette. They should be a little smarter about defending the vette instead of just floating along shooting at anyone who happens to fly above them.

the GB's should really be part of the quest, like stated by someone else everyone is already killing the escort, why not also get the GB's?

Everything that spawn together with the vette should be killed to succesfully end the quest.

And, if you cant beat a GB flying on a predetermined path, whtn you shouldnt wear the Master Pilot title.

Those GB's are not that hard when they fly along the path, but when they arrive at the end point they start to turn and twist, which makes its harder to do it...

all accounts cancled. im leaving this game

I posted this on the sunrunner forum after getting pissed that people were getting so lazy. My only reply was a griefer. Hope there's a pair waiting when he goes for his master.. that's right, he's dictating and hasn't gotten there yet..

I to agree these should be added to the mission. That way if you do not kill them your mission is not finished, and if you decide to not kill them (ie: not finish the mission) they should theoretically hyper at the end of their run. I know I was going to help this guy get his Ace, and he sat in Kessel for a couple hours. Finally ended up logging out telling me he would try again tomorrow. I went in, and right at the last point was a couple of gunboats. I felt bad for the guy as I was only grinding FP in Deepspace, and if I had checked beforehand we would havefinished the mission that night.
