Well I want to get master freelance pilot but I had a few questions.
First, how long does it take to grind privateer? Also, is there any guide on doing this?
What stats should I look for in ships? What components are good to add to ships?
Also, I joing CorSec on Corellia. Is that the best to join because you can fight Imps and Rebs?
Just thought I would add..... I want to get the Jedi Starfighter for PvP. Where can I get this? I am a ground Imp so can I get the ship or can I only get it if I'm an Imp pilot?
thanks
Wes

First: Pilot FAQ Sticky
There are a lot of ship chassis to choose from, so I'll give you my opinion, it might be different from someone else:
Or..
I haven't done the CorSec faction, so I can't give you any opinons on that. I guess its the closest thing to a 'Pure Neutral' faction, since you pick your 'vette.
Starship components are a whole 'nother barrel of moneys altogether, and are best learned about through reading, experimenting, and talking to other Pilots and Shipwrights.

- Start with the Prototype Scyk fighter you get from the trainer and use this until you qualify for the Dunelizard.
- Use the Dunelizard chassis until you are a 4XXX pilot. It's a good combination of Speed and Mass, and the best Tier 1 Fighter.
- Once you reach Tier 4 Chassis certifications, do the Eta-2 Actis Quest to get the Jedi Starfighter II or find someone selling a Belbullab-22.
Or..
- If you have some cash to spare when you start out, you could get a Heavy Scyk fighter, which has more mass than the Dunelizard (90k vs. 85) and is quicker and more manuverable. The only downside is the single blaster mount versus the two on the Lizzy.

You edited as I replied. There's a whole thing about the Actis Interceptor in the FAQ. Any pilot can fly it, as long as (s)he has done the quest. You have to be an Imperial on the ground to do the quest, it starts on Dathomir. If you don't die on Dathomir getting the quest object, you should be able to do the quest with moderate combat skills. (I'm a pretty crappy CL54 Rifleman, and didn't have any problems.)

Smugglers Alliance based out of Tattoine can attack both rebels and imps. I have a corsec pilot and up until the other day in kessel I could only attack imperials in space. I even went imp on ground and declared imp in space and could still only attack imps, gaining rebel faction which seemed bizarre. But like I said when I was in kessel helping a friend I noticed that I could kill rebels and imps so I'm not sure what has changed.

Did you went rebel in deep space?
If so, you got bugged. Redeed the ship and you'll be able to attack everything again.
