I've finally gotten the Admiral Burke "voluntary" kill 30 Imperial ships mission in Kessel.

I need at least 2 otherpilots to help me kill these Tier 5 Imperial Ships.

I can get about 20 shots in on them before I find myself in itty bitty pieces at a space station.

I'm flying a Grievious ship with strong guns, good shields and I've been using the countermeasures and roll tactics.

Any advice or suggestions?

Send an ingame tell to Chianne if you can help fly this mission, please

I just did this mission last night without any damage at all and I'm using an Advanced (Heavy) X-Wing. Do you have a droid and the 5 programs that almost every pilot has (reactor overload, cap overload, weapon overload, engine overload, and cap to shield shunt)? If you don't...start there and that should help a great deal, also check to make sure you have the best guns available on your ship and try even grouping them together with the G button while in space. Hope that helps!

Don't get ambitious and fly defensively.

Avoid TIE Aggressors if at all possible. Yes, expert pilots can solo several of them at a time, but not all of them.

Try going for stragglers that get away from small groups.

If your shields start to take a beating, don't try to impress yourself by hanging in there, get clear and get away from the action till you regen.

Never fight in Kessel without the ability to reach 1100 speed under boost. Tier 5s top out at 908 speed, if you can't get clear of them when you get into trouble, you're hosed.

Don't hesitate NOT to attack a group larger than you can handle. There are a lot of spawns in Kessel, learn your limits and only push them when absolutely necessary.

Fight in the presence of Rebel NPCs when possible. TIEs will often aggro on them, opening up opportunities for unopposed shots.

Reactor overload 3/4, Engine overload 3/4, Capacitor overload 3/4, Weapon overload 3/4, Capacitor to Shield Shunt 4.

Did this in a regular X-wing without issues. Just avoid the gunboats in general, at least till you are more comfortable fighting high tier gunboats. They ate my lunch twice when I first tried this mission. Liberal use of CTSS4 and IFF scramble if you bite off a bit more than you can chew. Joust Aggressors from the front.

Go overt prior to starting for HUGE faction points.

I suggest doing this on your own for practice till you get it. It will make you a much more comfortable pilot.

Do NOT go overt in Kessel while you are trying to complete your master missions, unless you feel like getting ganked before completing a mission and having to start over...

And, like others, I'd have to guess you are not using flight programs. If you're not, you're missing at least 30% performance boost in all aspects of flight, if not more.

Going overt is a matter of preference. You could get ganked, so know that going in. If your server has a huge spacefaring population, obviously, don't do it. Personally, on Starsider, I flew most of Tier 3 and 4 overt, so I could shoot up through the ranks. I got attacked once, at Tier 2, near an Imp Spacestation and promptly killed the tier 2 that attacked me. /shrug

If your server is dead, I think the positive outweighs the risk.

Oh, but don't do it on your vette mission, obviously.

Wow i found this to be one of the easiest missions for flying. I killed probably about 10 aggressors, 2 gunboats and a bunch of other ties with out any problems. You NEED cap to shield shunt to do anything as a pilot. With it, you can solo anything you can make one pass against. What faction are you? If you Rebel, the Heavy X wing is probably the best PvE ship for space. I soloed all of my tier 4 missions and did the corvette with one other noob pilot. Just make sure your educated on the vette before you go at it, the FAQ guide really helped.

I don't use any of those overloads and won't be doing so, until I start looking at PvP, since all PvP'ers use overloads.

I had no problem with the Tier 5 Fighters, I just needed a decent sized group, in order to be able to take down the requisite number of enemy fighters, without spending 4 hours flying around Kessel. With the assistance, it took nearly 2 hours to whack the 30 Tier 5 Imps.
