Thread: Engine Overload IV problem
Launched into space, hit Engine Overload IV...and my speed actually capped about 210 LOWER than Engine Overload III. This was bad enough...but somehow EVERYTHING on my ship apart from the engine became disabled (INCLUDING the droid interface).
This have happend some times for me to.. you need to redeed your ship, strip your ship completly and redeed it. and then put it together again and it will work fine.. and becuse the enginee speed gets lower is becuse your reactor cant handle the extra energy take from the engine. you need a reactor whit higher energy or reactor overload 4.. or both (if you already have reactor overload 4 try use it first of all).
sorry for any typs, im tired ![]()
Unfortunately I don't get reactor overload. :/
This bug is abyssmal. It should tell you that doing this would completely disable your ship instead of just doing it.

Not bug, its working as intended. When you hit Engine Overload 4, the Reactor Drain on your Engine increases 10x and your reactor can't handle that. You can purchase Reactor Overload chips (and other chips), you might also want to invest in a larger reactor as that 10x drain for EO4 is HUGE.

Some of both. The initial reaction of shutting the ship down due to low power is a consequence of not enough power for the Overloaded Engine, let alone running any other component. The bug is that neither repairing, landing, or changing components cleared the issue off of the ship.
EO4 is a dangerous program. If your ship can handle the load, it is a wonderful addition, but if your ship can't, then it can be deadly.

No I was not. Is this a bug that will end up being fixed later, or is this a "feature"?
"Not bug, it's working as intended"
I was, as pointed out above, referring to the fact that it appeared nothing short of stripping my ship completely would fix what I had wrought. I am aware that the heavy load on the reactor disables parts...but not being able to get everything righted at the space stations (or any other way short of having an overload reactor option) is pretty buggy.
Thanks for the help, all...I guess I'll be looking into chips tomorrow. ![]()
EDIT:
I neglected to add that I would not normally use EO4. I just wanted to see how fast it would push my bomber since EO3 takes me to 1010. I AM, however, interested in what Weapons Overload 4 can accomplish.
Unfortunately I can't find any reactors with over 17000 power with certification level 8 or under. *chuckle*

I use Engine overload 4 ever single time I launch my ship. I wouldn't go into PvP battle without EO 4 (I'm a rebel with an A-wing). You have no idea how much it helps the y/p/r of your ship.
RO 4 will probably solve your problem with that. As long as your not trying to use WO4 that is.

The day they "fix" WO3 the long, tedious, neverending-wave-after-wave-after-wave without a moment to rest Tier 3 & 4 escort missions will become impossible without a group of a half dozen pilots unless you're one of those freakishly uber pilots that never misses a single shot and has the absolute top 1% of every component in your ship.
Find a Freelance pilot. They can burn Reactor Overload 4 into a chip for you. You buy the unprogrammed chips from a DE. Get Weapons Capacitor Overload 3 and Capacitor to Shield Shunt 3 from them while you are at it. Reactor Overload 4 increases reactor energy by 90%. For my simple example, get a 16k generation reactor. That'll pump out 30k energy when you run the RO4 program (run this first, always). There is probably a vendor or two on your server that sells the programmed chips.
