...did they turn automaticPvP back on in the Kessel system? I remember they had pulled the plug on it before i left in December, but I've been hearing references to it again, and had not read anywhere about its return.

The answer is no! Only DS is manditory PvP.

Definately off, although a /who will still show the PVP Enabled tag.


Lots of overt players in kessel though, not a bad spot for non-masters to go looking for a fight.
