Hey all,

I heard about people using type 10 weapons. Can i only get these from loot? I haven't seen any on the bazaar and someone said they can be obtained from missions. Which missions?

Also, if i wanted to change to freelancer, i know i have to resign, does that mean my rebel pilot tree would get reset?

Thanks

The only mission I have seen level 10's being given out is the Nym's Starmap quest, though I have heard of at least one person only getting a level 6 reward gun. Level 10's are generally looted from Tier 5's - Kessel and Deep space are the best places to pick them up.

If you switch to Neutral you will have to resign from Rebel pilot first - you will lose all xp and prestige, make sure you doNOT have an inspiration buff when you resign (or you will lose 110% of your xp)... If you want to switch back to Rebel, same process and you will be effectively starting all over again, but with a x1 bonus xp for each faction you have mastered pilot it.

There is one kind of Level 10 crafted weapon. The Mark II Space Bomb Launcher.

Their is also a lev ten pob elite blaster ion and disrupter but these should not be crafted until they fix them , make them more powerful along with all the other pob elite parts.

Seriously, its sad that I can craft an Experimental Blaster with 200 more points of damage than an Elite.

I can think of a number of gunboat pilots that would disagree with that comment. Mostly ones I have sent packing with a bomb to their rear.

BWAHAHAHAHAA!!! At 27000 points of damage per shot and four shots a pack, you're right, its not a weapon in the sense you're talking about, its a weapon of friggin' mass destruction.

Its only 12 shots totalon my Nova, but that's still 10 times the damage per shot your average Advanced blaster puts on target.

Aw.. and I only pack around 13,000 points of damagebefore Overload with a single volley from my Krayt RE'd level 10's are sweet... forget the force - use the blasters Luke.....

Sure, but we are getting that damage with the loss of only 15K mass. How much do those 10s hit the scales at?

Level 10 Space Bombs

Level 10 spacebombs over 30 seconds assuming 4 locks with 3 ordinances

27000 damage x 3 ordinances = 81,000 Dmg Per lock

If you get lucky you can MAYBE get 4 locks in 30 seconds

81,000 x 4 locks = 324,000 Damage

Spacebombs usually have about 1.2 effectiveness

324,000 Damage x 1.2 Effectiveness = 388,800 Total Damge over 30 seconds

324,000 / 45,000 Mass = 8.64 Damage per mass unit

Level 10 Blasters

Level 10 Blasters over 30 Seconds

1 sec / .37 sec = 2.7 shots a second

2.7 shots/second x 13800 Dmg Per shoot = 37297 Dmg per second

37297 x 30 seconds = 1,118,918 Damage in 30 Seconds

1,118,918 x .8 effictiveness = 895,135 Gross Dmg/ Second

895,135 / 120,000 Mass = 7.45 Damage per mass unit.

So as you can see, for damage per second the blasters are better by almost three times. In comparrison (i assume spacebomb launchers are 15k mass each? other wise my math is borked badly) to damage to mass, the spacebombs beat out the blasters just barely. Dropping a round of space bombs on a target can be quite expensive though, at almost 30k a pack on my server for decent spacebombs, it adds up quickly. This can be rebutted with saying that you possibly had to pay a lot of money for your level 10 guns, however people do get all 10 by them selves and RE them. If it were me, i would definitly choose the blasters over the spacebombs.

That's all fine and dandy, but you are missing my point. Most ships dont have 120K mass to spare for weapons...let alone 3 hard points for guns. In a ship like an Oppressor, with only 167K mass, 2 gun hard points and3 missle mounts....it's still an effective weapon. I understand that the Kryat is a gunship. I loke the ship and have always enjoyed flying mine, but to discount another smaller ship with space bombs is silly as they can still pack a very big punch....just limited by the ammo.

Thats true, In a smaller ship they spacebombs could be way more effecient than the weapons which would prevent the ship from takeoff.
