Thread: General Oppressor setup

ok i have been flying the jsf for some time and it doesnt feel right, and since i have an oppressor deed id like to know where on earth to begin with getting a reasonable setup in it, so any suggestions would be very helpful getting me out of that annoying ship, i have all the nym rewards but no REd parts or a prenerf DI, just to prevent suggestions of them

the only RE's I have on mine are the L8 Nym's shield and a cap the rest fo my equipment is crafted and looted. I will post the basics since I can't remember what the specifics are.


Reactor Mk4? crafted 16k+ gen


Engine L10 crafted 72yp 58r 103 top speed


Shield L8 RE Nym's 2555 f/b


No Armor


Cap- L2 RE42 regen 1013 energy


Weapons 2 L8 looted blasters and 3 IR2's


Chaff launcher


DI L2 crafted 21 speed


Booster L2 looted 32 speed 10 sec burn

The most important parts of an Oppressor are going to be he 3 Img Rec II launchesrs, that is what gives this ship its advatage in PvP. In addition a good engine to make up for the inherent crappy handling of the chassis is necessary as well as a good shield to make up for the huge profile.


Of course it is best used in a support role during a battle, launching missiles at the slippery ships while they are already angaged in dogfights with more manuevrable fighters.

Thats not a Nym's shield, unless you got one witha funky Re level. All the Nym's shields I got were Level 8 equipment, level 7 RE certed

The oppressors a death trap if your by yourself vs multiple opponents. If its 1 on 1 however, the odds of winning are in your favor.


My rough loadout is:

MK III reactor

L4 RE'd Cap

MK IV crafted droid controller

MK II Armor plating

L8 RE'd sheild

L8 RE'd engine

MK II crafted booster (have about 7K mass to play with including this booster, gonna swap this for an RE'd L6 booster when i get around to it)

L10 Re'd Armek Elite Ion Cannon

L8 RE'd Borestal

chaff launcher

Missleloadout is either:
3 MKII IR's
or
3 MKIII concussion (pve )
