Thread: Enough with having to do ENTIRE missions over

I have done this last tier 3 mission for SS like 9 times now, no matter how I approach, using all overloads, etc. Either the first or the second nova courier ends up blowing through my shields and killing me.

I have tried it with two people now who were tier 3+ and failed too. Although frustrating as hell, I realize this is supposed to be the toughest squad. Thats all well and good, but having to do the ENTIRE freaking mission over upon failure is just a pain in the ass. It takes a good 1 at least to do it, mainly because escorting the shuttle takes forever. Then to get to the last part and get blown to bits, is almost too much.

How about getting sent to the space station and repair, then just go back to the waypoint and try again??! The waypoint for the Nova is never more than like 8k meters out from the station. But no, you have to fly back to Yavin, get the mission again, and do the repetitive crap all over again.....

I didn't have a problem at all with that mission. /shrug

If you don't like that one, the next one is worse. Two Tier 4 Novas and a whole bunch of fighters. You're supposed to get help during this, but the entire group that spawned to help me was too busy chasing a static spawn a-wing around in circles, which meant I had to solo the whole pack.

Yeah I agree, when you finish a prt you should finish a part. Or else why did they break them up in the first place? Just give me the next instruction, don't show that I've completed it in my journal, give me a mission completed message followed by a here is you next mission message. Doesn't really make sense.

Amen... Nothing worse than spending an hour escorting random stuff around to have the finall part of the mission require the destruction of a fleet, only to fail and have to repeat the ENTIRE process over again.

Builds character. Save points are for sissies

I solved the problem by not failing missions except for crashes to desktop and connection failures.Seems to be an OK workaround

I can confirm that this workaround solves the issue. I've had no problems since I started using it.

worked for me too... didn't have to repeat a single storm squadron mission.

Never played any of the single player space sims I take it. These missions are bunny in comparison. Use a flight computer with the 4 overloads and shield shunt. If you still can't do it solo then all I can say is find a good wingman. The more he/she brags about his/her awsome skillz the better your chances are of success

Well I haven't done SS in a long time, but this work around did not work for me. I think it was because I answered "weak" to the Rebel Nova question. Turns out that is the incorrect answer
