X-wing people i feel for ya lol. Now i have gone through Imp,privateer and rebel.

I have recently gone through rebel again on another char and i have just hit x-wing use again. I dont remeber the imps being so hard to hit with the x-wing last time. I have had to learn to roll my ship so now i am fireing sideways and tracking them to kill them. I use to not get the convergence thing but now i do. Privateer ships and Imp ships have their guns and atleat a couple of them real close together so the outside guns are no big deal. With the rebel x-wing the 2 outside and 1 inside gun just feels wierd. lol I htought about going back to the flying brick y-wing longprobe because of it. lol Then i thought na its thedang x-wing heck no lol. So i like to guess i like to suffer with it lol.

so X-wing i feel for ya. Its a love hate relationship.

Personnally I feel noooo pity.

Granted convergance IS an issue, i would never say otherwise.. however, every time i look at my Tie Avanced, i think back to my Xwing days as an alliance pilot.

Two points:

1.) Gun layout.
1a | 2a
2b | 1b

If bolt 1A hits, he gets full damage for one gun. If bolts 1A and 2B hits he gets full damage for BOTH guns. So despite convergance the xwing pilot has a good wide spread. I liken it to a shotgun.

Then theres that 3rd gun....

Which brings me to two:
2.) If you can squeeze in an L8 and an L7 cannon into a 65K mass with 2 hardpoints, imagine what you can do with a 100K mass chass with 3 hardpoints.

Now im not intending to counter you, but i only have praise for the Xwing, despite its convergance issues.

oh no i didnt mean it to be a pity party there are ways to work around the whole thing i just forgot about it. I have to agree with the shootgun effect your talking about but you have to take into account that shootgun spread is real wide with nothing but 1 dot in the middle.lol

i only reason i every went rebel for the most part was to fly the x-wing, the same thing with privateer i only did it to fly the yt-1300 lol but i never fly its just the thought hey i got lol. Also the only reason i do Imp is to fly the Tie Intercepter, and opressor. well the decimator is cool looking inside i have to give it that.

oh edit i also hate the whole 1a/2a thing because of looks

I prefer the X wing over all to the advanced. As an Imperial Ace now i still go back to fly my Interceptor ratehr then my Advanced did not like the advanced at all really.

i like my advanced the most, followed by the awing, and then the xwing.

the advanced has all the benifits of the awing plus twice the firepower.

Worse PVP profile, though.

I don't know about that, Rhyx has a pretty bad bottom top profile and even side and front back aren't great, IMO

I meant the Advanced's profile isn't as good as the A-Wing's. It's very nice, but that A-Wing.. how I covet it.

The Rihk has an okay profile for a heavy fighter, but I definitely agree with you that it's still a big ol' target.

I usually just don't let things shoot at me. 3 4k plus dmg lasers shooting at you with WO3 tends to make your ship toast too fast to fire back

Vegitaa's list of favorite ships for PvP/PvE

  1. Firespray. (Thats right, gimmie that look like I'm crazy... hehehehe.. with the mass on this badboy and all re'ed parts I'll dust you anyday! Sure it has a butt the size of a mac truck, fortunately I have mastered the art of the roll. 2 blasters at over 4k maxdamage each including 2 SpaceBomb 2 launchers... yummy!

  2. TIE Intercepter. In my opinion, and this is only my opinion mind you, with all re'ed gear this thing makes AWings blush. Sure sure, the advanced has the same stats when it comes to the chasis.. and yes, the advanced has more mass... but I enjoy taking advantage of the lack of convergance (another poster explained that above). cruising at 1257 unboosted, literally flying sideways around awings.... priceless!

  3. Oppresor. Again, much like the firespray, just a beast. Nowhere near as manuevorable as my TIE Intercepter but none the less a great ship. Big guns and 3 missle tubes make me smile like a kid in a candy store with a pocket full of change!

Ok, so just trying to be funny, not talking smack here folks. I really do love these three ships. I haven't gone out and mastered 6 pilot prof's yet (I intend to master all the Imp squadrons... don't wanna spend the cash on the nuetral ships.)

I do pretty well with these ships. The firespray I mainly use for faction grinding in Deep Space, just has better survivability in my opinion. The Oppressor, again, I use this for farming money, parts, and faction. I prefer the blaster spread on the Firespray for coverage, but the Oppressor's 2 guns firing directly forward tend to eat through targets like a knife through butter.

The Intercepter is just fun as heck. Again, Iconic in design and feeling. Fast, maneuvors like nobodies business, but let me tell you... you don't want to get hit at all in this thing. Anything over a Tier 4 can pretty much disable you in a few shots. Trick to this ship is not getting hit at all.

Heh, i love my oppressor too. Ive RE'd a couple cannons into that thing, ones an L10 and makes this really intimidating THUMP THUMP THUMP when you fire it. Cannon seems to be apporpriate as apposed to blaster. But antoehr thing ive noticed its as master ships go, it has a relatively small profile.. granted for a TIe its huge, but compared to other ships, its profile is smaller.

Then theres the missle rack. I used to HATE having 3 missle racks. However, after some experimnentaion im itching for a chance to see what i can do to an A wing with a salvo of three MK II image-rec missles in PvP. When you think about it, the oppressor is the only ship in the game that is able to use that kind of quick leathal shut down, however im kinda apprehensive about the turn rating and profile of the ship in PvP, but i figure nothing ventured nothing gained, if i dont try it, ill never know.

I LOVE MY XWING

it s a great ship in PvE and with the right engine truly kicks axe in PvP. With the right REing, I can load 3 lvl 7 guns each around 2000-3000 dmg and all at .78 vs sheilds/armor

I have a 1750 f/b shield in it plus 1100 f/b armor a cap with 1050 energy and 38 recharge, great booster and my engine is 84.2 speed with 71, 76,73 to Yaw, roll and pitch respectively

this setup has enabled me to take 5 on 1 odds and come out victorious. It is deadly in my hands

I'm about to get my level 8 capacitor REed, the nonREed recharge is 56.3 and the highest energy of the group is 1450... I can't wait to see what this comes out as
