Back in Beta I suggested this idea about new Campaigns, specificly for masterred pilots...as difficulty should be increased, AI smartenned up, action even bigger. (think Xwing, Tie Fighter, Xwing Alliance, Xwing vs Tiefighter).
Awe inspiring scenarios, wich would include both ground and space, in a Dynamic Mission system....where failure has consequence.
Dynamic Mission system (click here)
I thought it be a good idea reposting this. Typically, now that we can explore both space and planetsides...the scenarios could be bigger, better...non linear! Muahahahahah...*cough* cough* Now on to explanation.
The picture I put up here, is very simular to a system a game called Colony Wars 2: Vengeance used, it required you to get better with each new encounter, each screw up would lead to a different end, but you usually had a couple of chances to get it right (while not repeating the same mission). It was one of the best games Ive ever played, offcourse the game had prerenderred movies for introductions, and endings...but besides that....it could work for SWG.
You'de get AI backup, but the main idea is to bring in groups to help conquer those beastly missions, and advancing to the new parts would go simultanously for your members. Say you advanced through ACT 1 part 1 with your group (and all have the mission active themselves as part of a new campaign window..wich shows where you are), they all pass...same if they screw up, you'll all receive the short end of the stick. The Key to successes, Brains and Skills...not simple tricks and nonsense.
Since the timeline is right, why not begin a Campaign with something X-wing in the original series also did....the evacuation to Hoth?

Sounds interesting.
One thing I'd like to see added in is support from Star Wars characters. It would be awsome to be in a battle along-side Luke Skywalker, Wedge Antilies or Han Solo. And have to fight against NPCs like Darth Vader and Boba Fett, even IG-88 in the IG-2000. The NPCs could either take infinite damage or take a certain amount of damage and fly off (so they don't have the ability to get killed).

I like the idea, would give some master content and purpose to grouping in space. Also a use for prestige points perhaps..such as you could buy an NPC wingman with X amount of prestige. Basically you are talking a good campaign of story missions, and it would be great if they could integrate into the movies a bit. An expansion on your idea could be that the system takes into account the number of rebel succesfull campaigns vs number of imperial successful campaigns, and based on this more or less of either sides army forces would be added to the ground, ie rebels are winning in space so imperial ground support thins out to simulate attempts to regain space?
something like that to add to GCW content too

Just the statememt "awe inpriring" is enough for me
Bigger and better is my motto....
I am all for ground-space missions, I always liked the idea of having both ground and space going at the same time so the non-combat ground classes (entertainers, crafters) with master pilot are not left out. Kinda like the Death Star II destruction as it happened in ROTJ.
Great idea...

So many things that could happen, for instance you have a group defending a few npc's...getting supplies on a transport ship. You have to hold enemies off long enough untill they can lift off, the other part of your group is up in pace, waiting to escort the shuttle out of the system.
