Thread: Getting past 1111 pilot (rebel)

I recently returned to SWG and tried out the JTL aspect for the first time. I had fun doing the basic pilot missions and didn't have much difficulty getting used to the interface or targeting but suddenly after being told by my recruiter to head to Yavin 4, the missions have much stronger NPC fighters that hit harder and have more armor than I seem to be able to handle.

What kind of tips can you offer to better outfit my ship (still using Z-95; the Y-Wing just seems to be too slow and not very maneuverable) or find a different path to advance?

(Odd thing--bought an R2 droid, but can't load any commands---says it's full. I don't really understand why since it has no programs in it)

Thanks!

Buy the Y-Wing and give it a try. The higher mass means you can add some higher tiered, higher mass gear. Or if you have a lot of credits try to find a shipwright who will craft you the high mass variant Z95. That would bump your total mass up to 95k so you can outfit it with some pretty good stuff.

Also keep on the lookout for better components. I figure the mass on your Z ought to be better than my TIE...

I just went through the same part of pilot a few days ago, and this is what I did:

got to 1000 and got a y-wing immediately. the higher mass meant I could use a bunch of looted components (be sure to look through all those components you loot, don't just sell them to the npc immediately). A lot of looted components are useful and better than stuff you can buy from shipwrights.

got to 1100 and started putting in higher level components that i looted. The most important was finding a good L3 laser (pure luck). Or you can search on the bazaar / vendor search for a good weapon (around 600-900 damage, and .5/.5 to shield/armor). A good weapon is everything, this is over double the damage of the prototype given to you

got to 1101 and bought an L2 astromech droid. I was able to fit all my programs into the droid. basically I right clicked on the droid in my datapad, and selected program droid or something like that. it brought up a window, and I could load all the light shield modifications in. It was only half full. Maybe you bought an L1 astromech instead? Do you have a droid interface device equipped?

got to 1111 and basically had to go to yavin. I couldn't handle the escort smugglers or capture imperial ships with my L3 equipment, so I did patrols (kill pirates), which spawn 1 at a time until a leader spawns, then spawns 2 at a time...so I go back to the surface and pick up a new patrol duty mission

Space is all about the equipment. If you are still using your Z95 and the prototype equipment given to you, you cannot handle much higher than tier 2 enemies, and those tier 2 have to appear one at a time. With L3 looted equipment and a decent weapon, you can handle up to 2 tier 2's, or 1 tier 3 at one time.

Things that you might want to purchase from the bazaar and vendor search are shields, reactor, and weapons, the rest I just filled with random looted crap I looted. By the way, you can filter by part using the filters on the left, like ship components -> armor, or ship components -> shields

hope this helps
