I wouldn't mind a Kill/death ratio scoring. But i could care less about names. One reason space PvP is a bit more civil then the ground is because more often then not, you dont have time to be sending any scathing tells.

Personnaly, i dont want to know anyones name. I don't like making things personal, and i honestly could care less for anything they have to say. To me, no matter who they are, they are just a threat. Kill or be killed. No more no less. I don't really care for Epien comparisions or backpatting.

Why do you say that. There has to be some way the devs can add a system to keep track of kills per person.

well i guess its just me, I came to swg from playing other games like America's Army and Counter-Strike, I like to know who I got, and I aways send goodfight tells. Its not backpadding, its being nice.

Nothing erks me more then the goddamn kids on the ground using the works owned, or pwned for pvp. Template doesn't = skill. Having uber Weapons doesn't = skill. Most of them also say space takes no skill. hehehe.

I come to JTL from a game called Aces High. That game was a WW2 Flight Sim. No such thing as NPC's it was all PvP.

You would earn points for kills that would eventually give you access to 5 or 6 "prestige" planes (there were over 75 planes you could choose from besides those but they were special planes)

So, a kill ratio would be very cool to earn and display in JTL. As far as names... well. I know Ritha shot me down quite a few times, there's a few Reb's I've taken out multiple times as well. More often than not an attitude develops amoingst pilots. It's more of a "gentlemens" duel than ground PvP.

Someone shoots me down in space right now, I have respect for them because I know I'm not an easy target. That seems to be the way it is in space right now. Sure, some people are going to get all hurt about getting shot down but hoestly the playing field is pretty level.

Anywhere except DS you have a choice about being "overt". If you get shot down in Kessel because you were too busy paying attention to the NPC's because you're faction farming... unfortunately thats the risk you take. If I get a tell saying "I was just farming faction and didn't want to pvp" well, it doesn't hold water for me.

If you go to DS, you know you're a target, especially on a server like Ahazi where space PvP has been a bit harder to come by.So, I look at it like this. The mature pilots that are in it for the joy of "living in the Star Wars universe" an enemy overt is an enemy overt, valid target. I expect to be treated the same way.

Treat opposite faction pilots with honor. If you want to send a tell saying "nice fight" feel free. I try to avoid opening the door to hate tells. If someone sends you a hate tell, just ignore it, and next time you see them overt you won't feel so bad spreading their ship all over the quadrant.

I don't need names on a list to show that I'm a good pilot, on the other hand I'd like to know how many widows had to recieve the "Your husband was shot down" emails.

But hey, cut me some slack i havent played in awhile. You can tell by the number of base Hacks i have in. 349, verses the 3700 to over 4000 base hacks for some people.

don't get me wrong. I think a ranking would be good, also with stats on what equipment you were flying at the time so ALL EXPLOITERS would be caught red handed amongst other things. I just said 'unfortunately no' because at the moment we don't have a ranking system.

It would be cool.

It would be cool if when you got a pvp kill you would loot a paint kit that allowed you to put a small rebel/imp/nut insignia right below your canopy...to show how many kills you have...yeah most likely others would not see it but you would know its there...and the way to get around having your whole ship covered with these marks is anytime your ship is destroyed you lose em all. Just an idea.
