Thread: Questions About On-board Repairing

I fly a YT-1300 and I was just wondering how this all actually works.. my guess is that when you start taking damage you apply the kits to the appropriate panel or conduit but Im a bit confused on a few things...

- On the repair kits i get it says repair points 9000 etc... is this the number of Hitpoints it heals?

- And when exactly would you apply a repair kit to a conduit instead of a panel?...

- Can a "all-purpose repair kit" really be used to repair ANY component on your ship (YT-1300 in my case).

- When your shields get wasted and you apply a Shield repair kit does it replenish your shields back to full? (if so that would be awesome.. but I have a feeling that isnt the case)..

I guess thats it for now... and if any of you fly a YT-1300 with really good defenses and you take it through more dangerous systems like Dathomir and such, can you tell me the stats on your components?

I believe my shields are at 2500 front and back and have a recharge of 16 or more. My armor has a armor rating for 2800 or so and has HP of 1500.. if im not mistaken... just wondering if those are good defenses for the more dangerous systems.

Thanks Alot for helping me with my questions.

to answeryour questions:

-multi-purpose repair kit: apparently so. i repaired the plasma conduits on a friends nova with nothing but a muti-purpose repair kit in (the second tier of) my inventory. the number on the repair kit is how much damage it can reapir in total, and it decreases accordingly as you repair. example: your 500hp reactor is down to 100hp. you repair it with your 10k repair tool. assuming it's a 100% repair, your reactor goes back to 500hp, a repair of 400 points, and your repair tool reduces to 9.6k.

-you repair a panel when the component it is slaved to is damaged. if your capacitor is damaged, go to that panel and repair it. this will repair your capacitor. 's why it's called an access panel

plasma conduit leaks are pretty easy to spot- there's an alarm going, and you're on fire. this would be a good time to apply a patch and have a doc nearby. if you have niether, stay in your seat and get to a space station for repairs, then be prepared to land and re-deed your ship to accomodate the bug. even if you repair it then and there, it is no gauruntee that the bug won't kick in and you will be set on fire by a phantom plasma leak.

-sadly, if you repair a shield internally, it works the same as a repair at a space station- your shield will start at 0 and will have to charge up.

-yes, that is pretty good. i think you can maybe find some armour that is a bit higher, but that's about it.

-vibes

Just to add to the previous responses the all purpose repair kits have been changed to work on everything except plasma conduits. To repair the conduits you now need to have actual plasma conduit repair kits.

Also they only fixed the bug that caused your alarm to continue to go off even when all damage was fixed and there were no phantom plasma leaks. The phantom plasma leak bug is still there so if you get one the alarm will still go off and you will still burn up when running around your ship.
