Yes and no, depends on level. Dumped 100+ lvl 7 and 9 loot components yesterday because there wasn't a decent stat amongst them. Now just keeping levels 4, 6, 8 and 10. And no might there, they will be useful later, either good stats or filler.

The only odd level stuff I like to keep are L3 reactors andL7 armor, guns, and reactors.
My 41k and 30k reactors were both L7 loots

Yeah, I have noticed that odd-numbered loot isn't necessarily junk. Some components are actually better than even numbered variants, although I haven't quite worked out what yet.
I think my ship is currently using 2 level 7 guns, a level 7 DI, and a level 3 reactor. The only reactor I've found that beats its 13.8k energy output is a level 8 crafted reactor that has almost 6 times as much mass and a measly 3k energy gain!
*looks up* all my level 4,5,6, and 7 reactors are in the 9-11k region. maybe i've just been unlucky

Odd level stuff is generally worthless for RE. I noticed that much when I had around 50 items level 7/9 loot. Didn't want it to drop it back then since I might hit something good and be without filler components. At 100+ items still nothing good felt more comfortable to let it go. If I do get something odd level good now, then I'll just have to wait with RE'ing it till I got fillers again, It's not that it takes that long to get loot.

Does anyone else have a hard time throwing loot away, stricly because of the idea..."it might be usefull later" ?
