Thread: Where is a good spot for Tier 4 Black Suns pilots?

I've been looking on these boards for over an hour now and I can't find any post that says where the Tier 4 Black Sun pirates actually spawn. I know Tier 5 spawn in Kessel, but I'm only at Tier 3 and was hoping to grind out Tier 4 on Tier 4 Black Sun pirates.
If there is no real good spot for killing them, does anyone know of a good spot to grind out Tier 4 at? I was having alot of fun with JTLS till I hit the 4 million exp Tier 4 brick wall. I'm Smuggler's Alliance and the duty missions I've been given are just too hard to solo. Three of them are escorts that spawn waves of fighters too often, and the fourth is a kill mobs at waypoints mission that loves to spawn Tie Agressors on me.

Amazing that you said you looked so long, since there are posts asking this question at least once a week.
Here's the stock answer, yet again:
Natural spawns- only one. in Endor, near Red Sin Chimaera. not suitable for grinding
Duty missions- Rebel: Crimson Phoenix Tier4 trainer on Rori. Neutral: Corsec tier4 trainer in Dantooine Minin Outpost gives a capture mission. RSF tier4 trainer in Theed Palace gives a destroy mission. The second is the better of the two.
Before you ask, yes you can get the missions as an SA pilot.

Thank you, I didn't know I could take Duty Missions from trainers outside of my profession.

I am an RSF imperial, if I take an imperial duty mission, will I be facing rebels? I want to build my FP and rank up at the same time.

You cannot take a Duty outside your own cluster. Rebels= any rebel trainer, Neutrals= any neutral, Imperials= any Imperial. Ground faction is irrelevant.

also to get the black sun helm do you need to kill black sun aces or is it any black suns? cuz i have heard it both ways

Any Black Sun, in fact I have never heard of one actually dropping off an Ace NPC.

Where is the BS spawn in Kessel? I've been around there a lot, but have yet to see Black Sun there. Or Death Watch even. Is it a fixed location? And I know this is probably a stupid question, but 90% of my time is in Deep Space

Helmet drop rate is horrible. I'd estimate that I've killed at least 600 of them grinding tier 4 xp without seeing a helmet

I'll confirm the helmet drop rate is horrible indeed. On one server I got one after about 300 tier 4 blacksun from the RSF mission. On another server I've killed well over 500 and not seen a helmet.
I pretty much gave up looking anymore. Killing tier 4 blacksun as an Ace is boring as hell and the drop rate of other components doesn't even make up for it. Since the helmets are decoration only and have no practical use it just isn't worth it.
