This is the one where you need to disable a merc spy. Whenever I get to the waypoint...nothing's there. Nothing like a merc spy is anywhere near it.
I've seen people saying that NPC ships attacked their merc spys...i'm thinking maybe one is taking out my spy...dunno.
Any ideas?

I had to fly all over to find him. First I found the wrong one, but finally I found the right one. I mapped a joystick button to target next (orwhatever) and just kept clicking it - he showed up eventually.

After I actually find this guy...how many things are left in this specific mission? I know I have to dock, get the info and thendock with another ship to give the info... but what comes next?
I'd like to try to finish it now but it's late and I have no idea if it's a 30 minute thing or a 3 hour thing...

Yah..he spawns in about the same place every time. I was just having the worst luck finding him fy first couple trys. I'm able to find him now...
Now I just have to get past the swarm of baddies that come after me when i'm trying to deliver the info...
Yah..i'm sure i'll die quite a few times going up this thing. heh

Hmmm, been some time since I did this - as I recollect, you find the guy, do a transfer via /dock, and head off to the other guy. On the way, you get attacked by what seemed to be an endless swarm of rebs. Finally, I gave up trying to kill them all, and just boosted to the second guy and did the transfer. Other people have hypered to another part of the system and come at the second guy from a different direction to avoid the swarm. Don't think there was anything after that, though.

This was the easy mission, as I recall. They get much harder from here. Much much harder. Be prepared to research each mission, and die a lot. I did. You can solo these. I did.

My question is this, every time you try the mission, does the waypoint generally end up in a certain area, and if so you might try to have a friend wait there and see if it spawns.
