Before anyone tells me to search the boards for answers, the search isn't working at the time of posting....

I've been having some trouble with a Y-8 that's on loan from a friend till they fix the quest bug. Basically, we loaded her up with a cl2 mining laser on the hardpoint, tractor beam on the top turret, and an davanced blaster on the back, and we set off to do some mining. However, when we got to a roid, we couldn't mine it; nor could we blow it up to respawn a new one. We tried both the mining laser and the blaster to try and wear down the roid, but nothing worked. We tried different roids in different systems, and still nothing.

Is this an issue with the y-8 that it can't can't actually be used for mining?

Also, has anyone every tried the Y-8 as a combat ship? Just wondering what it would be like as you could load some pretty nasty, heavy guns onto it.

If stupidity got us into this mess then why can't it get us out of it?

I don't need to hate people on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, nationality, or any of those other things. 30 seconds of conversation usually does the trick.

Almost everypost pertaining to the Y8 discibes it as the mining ship that doesn't mine. As a combat ship, it can be fun, but you won't get any looted parts...no lootbox. Mine's in the pad til they come up with a use for it.
