Can you change squadrons? I started neutralin Corsec squadron but was thinking I'd like to join the smuggler squadron.

Also, if you change squadrons will you lose skills and xp like you do if you change faction?

You change squadrons by dropping your current one (NOT under an Inspiration buff, unless you like grinding out 10% of your current XP to reach 0 again) and picking up the new one, then starting from scratch (plus the Master multiplier).

to go from Corsec to SA you need to talk to Gil something in the bestine hotel to retire then go to the forst trainer for SA (which can be found in the FAQ). You don't keep any skills or certifications but you do get a master bonus of 2x xp. Be sure to either have a ship ready to use at novice pilot or clear out a ship slot for the starter ship, because once you drop corsec you won't be able to manage those ships till you reearn the cert in SA.

Like me I was Storm Squadron Ace since JTL launch & just a day ago I dropped it to Ace Black Epislon
I'm currently waiting for the vette to spawn in kessel so I can be ace again

Well that sucks... I could deal with losing skills and xp if I want to change faction but not if I just want to fly for a new squadron

What's the difference between one squad and the next??? Are the missions that much different?

The missions are completely different (ie story line and objectives).

You also get another set of reward items, which vary according to faction. The L8 gun is Rebel & Freelancer, the L7 is Imp ... the L8 engine is Freelancer. Those are the two that I think of first.
